Edit: Now, after 3 weeks of using: this mod is not very popular, yet it's one of the best clothing mods I've found. I don't have any DLC's, but I managed to cut all DLC-related content with Fo4Edit (by creating "dummy" esm files) and it works fine.
It's awesome, very useful and thanks to this mod I learned how to use dynamic material swapping to attach color variants as mods at armor workbenches.
For personal use I made many changes: added more color variants (like glowing mirelurk, alpha male deathclaw textures for Gatonian suits), more textures, unique features (like stat boost, water breathing, poison resistance, depending on costume, each has a different weight and damage resistance), it's really fun.
In response to post #50794777. #55856451 is also a reply to the same post.
I planned to release a no-DLC patch for this mod, but I asked other modders at the forun whether I can share edited version of a mod without the author's permission and they advised not to, and as I prefer not to get banned, I'll try to explain it here.
1) In order to open the plugin with Fo4Edit you need it's master files: DLCCoast.esm and DLCNuka.esm, so create 2 empty files in the 'Data' folder and name them DLCCoast.esm and DLCNuka.esm
2) Run Fo4Edit and load AnimalArmors.esp. Now in the file header you can see the files this mod depends on: Fallout4.esm, DLCCoast.esm and DLCNuka.esm
3) Open the ArmorAddon tab. Now remove all records associated with animals from Far Harbor: - Bloodrage Mirelurk (AABloodRageMirelurkAA) - Fog Crawler (AAFogCrawlerAA) - Hermit Crab (AAHermitCrabAA)
4) Repeat this with the Armor tab
Other armors, at least default color versions, use only textures from the base game. Gatonian suits use deathclaw textures and for the bear outfit the author used Bosco's headwear and Vault-Tec salesman's trench coat textures
5) Go to the Object Modification tab - these are mods that you can attach at Armor Workbenches. Remove all mods for Far Harbor animal costumes
6) Now in the same tab remove the Nukalurk skin variants for Mirelurk and Mirelurk Hunter outfit (MirelurkOBNuka and MirelurkHunterOBNuka) and black cat skin for Khajiit costume (ChajiitOBBlack), as Nukalurs and a black cat appear only in NW
7) Left-click on 'zzzM150AAGatonianOBNormal'. If you see an 'Error: Couldn't be resolved' line (if not, than skip this step), left-click this line (there may appear a message like 'Click Yes if you are sure') and select a proper material swap from the dropdown list. If it won't open, click once again and wait a while. As I'm not sure how to set standard deathclaw texture swap without the Creation Kit, let's select 'DeathclawAlpha'
8. Same with 'zzzM150AAGatonianOBAlbino', but this time select 'DeathclawAlbino'
9) In the 'Keywords' tab you can remove keywords for Fog Crawler, Bloodrage Mirelurk and Hermit Crab, but I don't think they matter after removing recipes
10. Open the 'Constructible Object' tab and remove recipes for all three FH creature outfits. they end with 'CO' suffix
11. Then remove recipes for mods you've previously removed: FH creatures, MirelurkCONuka, MirelurkHunterCONuka and ChajiitCOBlack
12. When you've finished, scroll up and right-click at the AnimalArmors.esp tab and select 'Clean Masters'. Now if you had succesfully removed all dependencies, the only master file mentioned in the decription should be Fallout4.esm. Close the app and save the changes.
I have 'borrowed' some textures from other mods I have installed - one cannot have enough variety - and attached the jetpack effect from 'Super Shround' (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28196) to the costumes, now I am a flying monster :P
Need to figure out if is possible to attach ranged attacks (like the mesmetron or the assaultron head laser) and melee attacks with FX... is probably a chimera but hey, I can think on worse ways of spending these dark late autumn evenings...
Heyo just wanted to drop a thanks because your mod is amazing^^ The Armors a realy unique but i ran into trouble displaying them on manniquins, for some reason the head glitches out.
I featured this piece of art in my latest mod spotlight if you'er interested(also the bug is clearly visible at 05:44) :
