XBone version is now available on Bethesda.net for those interested, or just follow the Mirror link.
I do encourage you to read the Description if you have not, I tried to be entertaining along with informative.
If you do not like the pictures that I have included with this then you can change them very easily yourself. Just follow these steps: 1) Acquire Photoshop (not free download) or Paint.Net (free download) 2) Go to Data -> Textures -> PaintingPortals 3) Each of them are named according to the location they represent and are already linked to the correct material. 4) Open up the DDS texture and replace with whatever picture that you wish (altering the image size if needed). 5) Do no rename the texture or you will need to do extra work. 6) Save the new texture. 7) Enjoy your new modification in game.
Awesome creative way to go :) can't wait to try them .. ALSO to try make my own paintings ;) .. ie cud use a photo for each companion posing in the Settlements they are assigned to and live in :) speaking of which .. Does anyone know yet if your companions will follow you THROUGH to the painting's destination too?
Too bad you decided not to make more...I love these, ran across them before and came looking for them again and couldn't find them, and then today..BOOM...I looked up portal paintings...I had done that before, maybe it's not being seen so much and even when I tried to search it, I couldn't find it again. I love the concept....since you have decided not to make more, you did mention a holotape that had over two hundred I think it was...do you have that one where people can make their own from various places...it's especially cool if you can make one when you place a mobile workshop and build, you can't make a fast travel to it so would be cool to do that, as places you can't fast travel with your pipboy. So...awesome paintings...can you point me to where the holotape is? Thanks!
Very creative approach. Still a fast travel cheat for survival mode purists like me, but I had no choice due to 300+ mods making extended periods of outside travel CTD-ensured, especially around Diamond City. Thank you, saved me the time making something I needed to make myself, endorsed!
This looks amazing (like all your mods,) I will definitely be trying it! Any chance you will be putting more locations in, like other settlements and the like?
I could add more locations, I got plenty of practice from my Holotaped Fast Travel mod. This one is just a bit more involved as it takes more time to add each new location.
Could you give me a list of some locations that you would like to see added, that would help me out. Also try to keep them to Vanilla and Far Harbor only please. More DLCs will work in FO4Edit (allows 2+ Master Files), but they will not work in the CK (allows up to 2 Master Files) unless I add more ESP files (and currently no one wants more of those).
I'd like a few of commonly used settlements, as well as a few 'high-revisit' areas, like quest areas and the like:
The Combat Zone Taffington Boathouse Starlight Drive In Sunshine Tidings co-op Parsons State Insane Asylum Fort Strong Bunker Hill Cabot House USS Constitution Rocky Cave College Square.
The are only suggestions, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd add some of the locations !
Hello Derpsdale.. I've been tracking this, as I was looking for something to maybe lessen page loads and this is brilliant, and lore friendly, what's not to like about a paint that can take you almost anywhere you want to go.. But watching the video and re reading the description, for most places unless at a settlement the painting are 1 way ? which is still fine just to be sure ..
I have one question: does it play the level select sound (link to the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBCycS0S_70) when you use them? If not, then would it be possible to make them do that? Just wondering, and I'm still going to use this.
Love, love, love this! It's useful, beautiful to look at, and defies all logic, the perfect combination. I thought it was a bug that I got Vault 75 off the bat, but was just due to another mod auto-revealing a nearby location, so all is well. Goes without saying I'd be very happy if you added some Nuka-World to the mix. I said it anyway.
Unfortunately, it didn't get popular enough for me to consider making further Painting Portals for it with DLC included. I will keep it in mind though for the future.
lol look at a picture and teleport to the location, yeah this is pretty much the premise of the movie Jumper, and that is totally OK as it was a decent film.

Yes I believe the paintings are one way... it has been a while since I looked at this though. From what I remember though, yes one way.
I wanna play Mario 64 now...
