Items Removed: Star Cores (Nuka-World) *
* Turns out the ‘Star Cores’ in-game are really objects called ‘Activators’. Activators (in this case) are objects designed to look like Star Cores, but instead run a script when you interact with them that adds a Star Core to your inventory, then hides the Activator from view, giving you the illusion you picked the item up.
A similar thing happens when you interact with the panels at Star Control. This time a script runs that removes the Core from your inventory and changes the Star Control Console’s appearance to that of an inserted Star Core.
Bottom line, the in-world item sadly isn’t really a Star Core, just a scripted object masquerading as one and cannot be tagged/highlighted using the Scrapper Lv2 perk.
