v16 is out and verified for the "Next-Gen" update.
-Some useless records for "test cells" were finally removed with this update.
-Also found some incorrect data in the PRP 74.8a patch that was fixed.

PRP 74.8a, PRP 74.6b and PRP 69 compatibility patches are included in the FOMOD installer.

Also the obligatory...Darker Nights is old and not updated, but still works great if you just keep it basic with the darkness level and DLC patches. Do NOT use the included FogOut v6 patch that it has. It is very outdated.

If you want to manually set fog through console, then this post is for you.

The command with syntax is: setfog (nearest) (farthest)
The syntax to "disable" fog similarly to how this mod works for interiors is: setfog 0 -1
If you would like to have what I think is a reasonable amount of fog outside, then I recommend something like: setfog 6000 600000, which are the values for this mod's optional exteriors weathers.
(For reference the default clear day weather would be: setfog 3000 250000)

Be aware that this setting will not save with your game and will reset upon reloading the game.

In what way do the exterior fog changes in this mod (setfog 6000 600000) conflict with the functioning of the Darker Nights mod ? Why is a compatibility patch needed ? What will be the visual difference without the patch ?

If I install Darker Nights and then create an autoexec to make the game use setfog 6000 600000 (or values of my choosing) when I start the game, will this work ?

To a layman like me, trying to understand how things like weather, lighting and fog (and sound ?) interact with each other is like staring into the void - and that’s before you bring precombines into the conversation…

I had planned to install this mod, mainly for the exterior fog changes, but using this with GOG FO4 is going to be a headache.

Kudos to the mod author for a popular mod though. Didn’t know about the setfog command before I came across this.

This mod seems to increase my performance. It does not conflict with True Storms. Thanks! 100% necessary mod to install.

I maybe missing sth obvious but PRP have 2 latest plugin version rn,v.74.6b for OG 1.10.163  and v.74.8a for the NG 1.10.198 update, but then your mod only have patch for either the PRP 74.8a or the 69 ver, which is a much older PRP version, im really confuse, is this mean im suppose to downgrade my PRP v74.6b down to v69 if i want to use Fogout + PRP - cause my game is still on 1.10.163 and not NG update for pretty obvious reason ? Thank you in advance.

PRP 69 was the only stable one up to Next Gen patch. A PRP 74 patch for old version hasn't been created yet as I migrated to the new version.

Next update later today will include 74.6 patch.

Is the compatibility patch for 74.6b (the Pre-NG) available now? Yes the installer contains it, but after installing it says "You seem to be using FogOut interior all dlc, but you have not enabled a compatibility patch for this mod. A compatibility patch is included with this plugin installer" under PRP.esp. I thought I already installed the compatibility through FogOut, why does it say like that?

I don’t know the answer (I want to know too) but I’m guessing it’s this :

The compatibility patch for PRP 74.6b included in the FOMOD for FogOut v16 will only work on a DOWNGRADED Fallout 4 version 1.10.163. If you have the NON-DOWNGRADED version of 1.10.163 (e.g. the GOG version), the patch will not work.

I apologise in advance if this is incorrect - and please do correct me if I’m wrong. If this is true, however, it will mean that to use FogOut v16 you’ll need Next Gen Fallout 4 anyway, but you’ll need to downgrade it to use the patch for PRP 74.6b. So absolutely useless for those of us using the NON-DOWNGRADED 1.10.163 of Fallout 4 (e.g. the GOG version). Again, apologies if this is incorrect.

FogOut v15, which is now archived (so you will need to google how to get it) also contains a compatibility patch for PRP Branch 74. What I’m not sure about is whether this will work with PRP 74.6b or only an earlier version of Branch 74 ? Also, is this version of FogOut compatible with NON-DOWNGRADED Fallout 1.10.163, or only the DOWNGRADED 1.10.163 ?

Confused ? Join the club !

FogOut v14 only contains a compatibility patch for PRP Branch 69, but I’m pretty certain it is compatible with NON-DOWNGRADED FO4 1.10.163.

Is this mod compatible with Ultra Interior Lighing mod?
Can anyone who used two mods together tell me how well does it work? Thanks in advance!

Odd, im missing Fogout Interior all DLCs. I've reinstall, and ensured I ticked interior, nada

The PRP patch for interior requires Fogout - Interior - All DLC.esp

Disable the patch for PRP in FogOut and enable the Patch for FogOut in PRP. Don't use both. It should fix the problem

v14 is now out after 7 years... and the time has passed for all DLC to be a requirement...

New in this version is Previsibines Repair Pack 69 compatibility, which is more up to date than the one included with Previsibines Repair Pack 69, so use the one included with this mod's installer for the time being. Other updates were adding a few interior locations from Nuka and Coast that were missed previously.

Darker Nights is old and not updated, but still works great if you just keep it basic with the darkness level and DLC patches. Do NOT use the included FogOut v6 patch that it has. It is very outdated.

Ooooh, I didn't even notice this updated! What was different compared to the 69 build, just different settings?
