I primarily created this mod to boost combat armor ratings, in order to have an alternative in protective clothing rather than having to always lug around Power Armor when going exploring (especially relevant as pertaining to limited power cores and survival mode).
The first mod versions were for Enhanced And Advanced Combat Armor:
If you have applied the Advanced modifications to all of your combat armor pieces, your armor should have: 900 Damage Resistance, Energy Resistance, and Radiation Resistance.
If you add the ballistic weave mod on clothing worn under the armor you can get over 1000 Damage resistance of each type - which is comparable to T45 power armor protection.
I was originally planning to leave it there but I was requested to make a new version of the Combat Armor mod that provided even more protection, which was truly equivalent to Power Armor on its own - and it was appropriately named the Ultimate Combat Armor mod.
I have added an optional file, Ultimate Power Armor, because of several PM requests, that truly boosts Combat Armor resistances to that of power armor. It will add 1500 resistance to ballistic, energy and radiation damage types - if all six CA pieces are modded. For balancing purposes, I wanted to impose a level restriction of, say level 40, but decided against it, as you have access to T60 power armor at level 26. So, I left the gated access restriction at the level of Advanced Combat Armor (fully join the two factions - which will happen in the level 20-30 anyway).
I changed the requirements for crafting Minutemen Advanced and Ultimate Armor from completing Taking Independence to completing the next quest namely: Old Guns. The reason was that the PAGlobal unlock for Minutemen colors is supposed to come after retaking the castle but this turned out to be screwy, in that sometimes it became unlocked after Concord. This way it stays nicely balanced.
Other Optional Files? I have included two new modification options, namely US Army (olive color scheme) and Special Forces (winterized color scheme) mods. They are faction independent for those players who do not wish to use Minutemen and/or Brotherhood of Steel colors and decals. Release date: Completed and available for download now.
PS: If you liked this mod please be so kind as to endorse it
Ok, WTF is with the enhancements working perfectly in one playthrough, not showing up in another, and being partially there in a third? This has to be the most randomly working mod I've ever seen. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution to such?
Hello Avengarth.. With this mod active, and the combat helmet, instead of your pipboy light whilst having the helmet equipped will the little torch part of the helmet light up instead ? And be able to turn off and on like so via the helmet torch ?
Have been successfully using the Ultimate for several months until I started a new play through. The option does not appear in the new saved game at all. I installed the latest version of f4se just in case nut no go. I was able to get Enhanced working just fine so I will use that until we can figure this out. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks phatbassanchor
Apologies for my delay in making these comments. I endorsed as soon as I saw the results in action. I installed this mod very early in my first play of Fallout 4. This mod with it's protection bonus has saved my character and followers more times than I can count. I found a few other legendary enhancement and jetpack mods that when combined make my combat armor as effective and more useful than power armor. I have like 7 sets of X-01 and a few other types of PA, fully upgraded and ready to go. But, because of this mod they just sit in the basement of one of my player home mods collecting dust. I tried several custom combat armor mods and a few power armor mods. But, this is the key mod to my current combat armor. This is the primary protection package that has kept me alive through 385 levels and still going strong. I shared a few screenshots in appreciation of your efforts. The iron cross with the skull and black coloring to the combat armor is a simple re-texture mod called Black Combat armor. Which is just cosmetic in nature. The under armor, beret and gloves come from N7 combat armor but the N7 armor would not take ballistic weave or the DR from this mod. So, they are unused. The N7 under armor suit and beret DO take ballistic weave and put me well over 1000 in all resistances when combined with this mod. The N7 gloves just look good. The images also feature Stealth Glasses which add the stealth field when crouching. Add in the jetpack mods for any armor and I'm equipped and ready always! With as much protection as power armor I can sneak faster than I can sprint in power armor with ECA. So, I parked all that clunky, noisy, heavy, fix or repair daily junk and just use my ECA! I also use this mod to enhance my female followers Fortaleza Mk2 armor as this mod works seamlessly with that armor mod as well. This armor is also featured in the screenshots. Exceptional protection from every wasteland threat. That's what I got from this mod. I really cannot thank you enough. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! 5 smiley seal of 100% approval!!!!! I endorse and highly recommend this mod!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
I'm not sure if this mod is still being actively developed, but I had a question about something weird I experienced.
I have all three of the "All-in-One" versions of this mod installed, but in the crafting menu, the Enhanced level does not show up for any of the factions. I see Advanced and Ultimate for each, and the base Minuteman/BoS levels, but not Enhanced. I tried a manual install, and they still didn't show up. I *can* use the console to apply the Enhanced omods to armor pieces, so I know they're there.
In answer to your question: Yes, I am currently working on alternative skin called Special Forces modification. This will provide a faction neutral (olive green Army) skin as well as a Spec Force (off-white skin - similar to Polymer color - without the star).
Should be uploading the new files by latest next weekend

Any thoughts? Thanks!
