Guys, just use Button Lowered Weapons and forget about having to ever worry about patching or bugs. This mod is probably abandoned, same as the bug-ridden original.
Great news, you can get better results with console commands. Also the result looks better because your character is actually keeping it lowered and not hugging the weapon on his/her chest.
Get FO4 Hotkeys mod (high change you already have it since many of us do,) open the Hotkey.ini, type Key=player.pa actiongunrelaxed; player.pa actiongundown. (It can be any key you want just replace the word Key with an actual key, for example I placed it on V.) The gun will stay in low position long as you want, and back up when you aim or press the key again. You can have many key binds as you want. Supports controllers.
Lower weapon is function in the game already but Bethesda just never took effort to give it for us. All you need to do for it is console command, and all you need to get it functional is executable key which you can get with FO4 Hotkey.
This mod lowers your weapon too quick anyway and it's automatic, I prefer manual method so I can choose myself when it's up or down, also known as combat ready position.
Works with every weapon including modded weapons unlike the lower weapon mods do.
Note for someone if confused, no I'm not talking about holstering weapon. Here is more you might want to know:
What the hell are you on about Vincent?? The instructions are super simple, a single PRESS of the button reloads as usual, a HOLD lowers it, and a HOLD again sheathes! It doesn't "disable reloading" at all lmao If it's not working for you, there's a 95% chance it's user error. Either a conflict with one of the mods you're using, which is rare but some shoddy mods will conflict with it, a preexisting savegame error that is now permanently fucked into your save, who knows... Button Lowered Weapons has been around for almost a goddamned decade now, works for basically everyone else (mod conflicts aside), and it's still the only good implementation of the mechanic - Auto lowered weapons still has the speed bug, the OG Lowered Weapons is completely BROKEN (and if you've used, that's probably what's fucked your game!), etc. The only potential bug BLW itself has is power-armor related, and I've never experienced it or been able to reproduce it; otherwise, it's the only mod where the author gave a s#*! and actually tried to make it bug-free... So don't go making up wild claims that are only true in your bugged modlist/save. Reimplementing it through FO4 Hotkeys is not a bad idea, though. You are basically achieving the same thing in the same way as BLW, but having it bound to a different hotkey - personally I don't like that, it's much better to have the two handling functions of lowering and sheathing bound to the same key, but more power to you!
if you have a whole lot of time on your hands i would love to see a modern firearms compat but the shear amount of weapons in that mod makes it a large task. also a valve rifle compat would be nice
Could you do one for the G11 Kraut Space Magic? It technically has an animation, but it covers half the screen in a relaxed state. It would be nice if the character held it much lower as to not obscure the screen as much.
