Don't mean to be rude, but what exactly is the purpose of this mod? You may need to explain it a little better...
I get the impression that it's a script to stop settlers guarding more than one guard post, yes? You do realise this can be achieved by having only 1 guard post per settler on guard duty, don't you? If you have 3 guards, and 3 guard posts, they will never leave their assigned post anyway, as there are no other posts unmanned...
Yeah its kinda hard to explain but I'll try to explain it. So in CK there is an option to allow a settler to guard a post for 24 hours a day. They'll never leave to rest or sleep or anything. So basically you have a guard all the time on that post. The problem I was having with guard posts was that either having 1 guard post or 3 posts the settlers always leave to go do other things and they would barely guard it. This fixed that by forcing them to stay there all the time lol.
The only time I really see this is in sanctuary when assigning jun n marcy to guard duty they will leave to "fix" the house. Everywhere else the just patrol my guardposts 24/7.

Only place I have seen guards leaving their posts and not just to go to another post is Sanctuary, The original crew (Marcy and Co.) go hammer at the walls and Preston wanders off to patrol the invisible nonassignable guard posts that are around sanctuary.
maybe this has to do with one or another Mod i have installed, but my Guards are never going to sleep. Yes, if you have more then 1 Guardpost than 1 Guard patrols between them, but sleeping or doing other things? No, i haven't noticed that. And this already bugs me. I find it unimmersive that a Human Person never sleeps, never has some offtime, never goes to a Bar. A better mod would be a Guard System with a Shiftsystem where 3 Persons share Guarding for 3x8 Hours.
But nevermind, your effort is beeing appreciated nevertheless.
This is a cool idea. Could even do a 12 hour shift. (day guard and night guard) The issue here I think is only 1 settler can be assigned to a post at a time. Would probably require some kind of control terminal and some scripting.
I'm still learning the scripting for a 3x8 or 2x12 hour shifts. This was just something I put out for people who wanted 24 hour guard posts. It is unimmersive that a human doesn't sleep, eat, relax, or really anything lol. Once I learn how to to do the scripting for a 3x8 or 2x12 hour shift mod I'll release that as its own separate mod
It sounds like you don't understand how settlers work. Much like how settlers farming can farm several crops until they reach 6 food points, guards will patrol between several guard posts until they total 6 defense points. If you assign them to a guard post that provides 6+ defense points, then they stay at it and don't patrol.

So basically if you have a defense structure that has 6+ defense they stay there? Well if google could actually pull this stuff up when asked this mod wouldn't be here lol. Hated the idea of my settlers guarding so little of a day out than wondering around aimlessly.
This is usually because they have nothing to do. There are a couple mods out with idle marker stuff like cleaning the kitchen or sweeping the floor type stuff to keep them busy.
