I've been using this mod for a few days now, and while the idea is excellent, it can be a bit aggravating to use. First, for some reason, I can use the Bash-button once to bring up the menu; after that, pressing the button starts the bash animation. Not a huge problem, as I created the individual shotguns I wanted and all was good. The more serious problem is that it is almost impossible to properly cover an area near borders (like sidewalks) without it overlapping onto the sidewalk. And unlike most objects, when the grass/bush/tree is selected in build-mode, the only options are Scrap and Exit, so the grass can't be rotated to line up with the sidewalk. Also, when placing grass, it places the grass in a diamond shape, making it even more difficult to neatly cover an area. I'm not a modder, so I have no idea whether this is even feasible, but just being able to rotate the object or move it so they can be aligned would be a great enhancement.
When pre-selecting an object (meaning to make it light up when hovering over it) in WorkShop mode, keep the "E" key pressed continously. While doing so, you can move the selected object in small increments using the arrow keys.
It would be handy if you mentioned that a person needs the creator DLC for this to work properly. I downloaded, installed and created the Beautifier and created the shotguns but was unable to exit the chem station. Neither was I able to save or exit save. I'll probably just disable this mod until I get the proper DLC installed and working.
I now have the Wasteland Workshop, The Contraptions Workshop and the Vaultec Workshop. Those are the three DLCs I was talking about. I downloaded your mod and activated it under mods. I checked GKX Beautifier.esp I went to create the gun in my Chem Lab which it did. The back button no longer worked and the Y Tab button was greyed out. The gun was created but I could not exit the lab or save or anything else. The reason I downloaded and installed the DLCs was originally under Plugins when I checked GKX Beautifier.esp It said I was missing DLC Workshop 01.esm, I was also missing DLC Workshop 02.esm and Workshop 03.esm. I am using Nexus Mod Manager 0.63.14 and all my mods are updated. Under Plugins it lists Fallout4.esm as its Master. 2017-06-05. Still doesn't work. Sorry.
I am also running a P.C. with more than enough requirements. Please see my udated Comment. Maybe you have some ideas. It might have something to do with Bethesdas exit save update?
Stuck at any bench is usually the result of 1 or 2 things. Either the item you are creating doesn't have an appropriate preview file or you simply haven't given it enough time to load. I have a very decent rig and still get caught like that sometimes. Just wait a few more seconds (can take a whole minute sometimes) or place your cursor over a create-able object that has a proper preview file and exit.
In any case, you can also enter the console and type and enter: "slm 14" (without quotes) to enter character edit mode. Exiting looks menu will by default, remove you from the bench.
If I place too many items will it cause the game to lag? I know if you put too much in a settlement it causes cells to load slow and eventually crash the game. I'd like to make the commonwealth pretty again hahaha. I'm nervous about it crashing though
It will cause lag eventually. How "eventually" depends on your computer. Probably the worst culprit is the Beach Grass. In my other mod, Leave Your Mark, I have a Beach Grass Shotgun that fires eight of the Beach Grass models. It slowed my FPS down to about 11 when I covered a cabin in Sunshine Trading Co-op with it: http://i.imgur.com/1XLimKt.jpg
The Beach Grass moves a lot. That's why it's a lag hit. The Lawn Grass doesn't move as much, and I think it's very pretty. Of course, it only looks good on really level ground, and that odd rectangle is the only decent looking shape of pre-war grass I could find. The other one is longer and thinner. The Large Tree may lag if you plant a lot of them, but you also wouldn't be able to move around. Same with the Small Tree, to a lesser extent.
You could probably overdo it on the bushes and lag your game, but it would look terrible. Honestly, I've been using this mod for over a week, planting trees and stuff everywhere, and I haven't seen any problems.
So it wouldn't be a good idea to cover all of Sanctuary with lawn grass? I have the Sanctuary Hills Restored mod and all the lawns are green but no grass.
About the lawn grass shotgun. No matter which direction you turn the grass comes out in one direction only unlike the others which will turn when you turn. Makes it hard to put grass where you want it.
That is to say, I made an archive of the gun models and uploaded it to Bethesda.net via the Creation Kit. I then went on the website and published it and I can see it when I search for it. I don't have an xbone, though, so I can't test it.
I can port it to playstation if anyone is interested. You won't get the gun models, though. Everything else is vanilla, You'll still have the named weapons in your inventory ("Large Tree Beautifier" f.ex.).
Love the idea of this. Great mod I'm not a modder but would it be possible to make it as one shotgun with a numbered wheel 1 -8 so that whatever number you turn the wheel to will give the gun the effect you want?

Now has a scripted menu, so it's only one weapon!
Bash with weapon to bring up the menu.
To the mod author...thanks for a great and FUN mod. I'm going to go and redo all my settlements now.
