i think i did that because the the rounds are going through so less impact damage however the armor piercing effect negates armor and does extra damage or something like that
its percentage based,so you loose 25% for using that reciever,and the armor pen is 40% at all levels,but due to how armor works in the game(if armor is the same as the ammount of dmg or higher,dmg dealt is 50%scaling with deminishing returns after that and scaling up to 50% of until the armor equals the dmg) it can have a huge inpact. lets say i have a gun that deals 8 dmg and i give it this reciever,that means it will now deal 6 dmg per shot and negates 40% of armor.if i were to hit a mob with 6 armor i would deal around 3 + 0.40*(3-3)=4.2 dmg per shot. If that -25% wasnt there it would be 8 dmg hitting a mob with 6 armor and would deal 8*0.56=4.5 + 0.40*(8-4.5)=5.9. As you can see it matters allot in the calculations for how armor works.
Ooohhh boy. I was wondering when someone would do this. I've thought about doing it myself many times but always balked at it because I was afraid of the bad guys having the same guns
