As of v1.2.0 of the Vault Suit Compatibility Patch, all of the customizations provided by this mod are integrated seamlessly into the other customizations already supported by the patch. Want to craft a hexa-prototype suit with pink trim and a Brotherhood decal, and have it all Just Workâ„¢? Now you can.

I have installed the mod using the mod manager, and I have the required additional file installed. The mod is on my list as enabled in game. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get these suits. I looked in the chem station, tried to mod the Vault 111 suit at the armor station and no joy.
How do I get these suits?

Sorry for not being active for a while. Life happens. This mod requires AWKCR. So you have to build the Armorsmith Workbench to make these items.

Edit: Not sure why you aren't able to edit the vault suits from the Armor Workbench. Works for me. Shouldn't be a mod conflict either. Only mod conflict problem I'm aware of happening is other mods that modify the dynamic naming rules, but that would just undo my naming conventions.

Can confirm, same problem is happening here. Proto Vault Suits aren't anywhere on my game, not even available for editing. I can't find Bomber Jackets or Battle Coats anywhere, unless I pull the console and spawn them. I'm suspecting that it's an incompatibility issue to the newer versions of AWKCR and Armorsmith Extended (AE), given how they added new customization options since June's end, and that's probably overriding the options in here.

That is indeed possible. However, that was not the problem at the time of the OP. The AWKCR was the current version used at the time. I'm going to reinstall my mod and take a look and see what (if anything) needs fixing.

Edit: The mod works fine. I think I understand the issue though. All armor mods are made using the armor workbench. All armor pieces (namely vaultsuits, bomber jackets, and battlecoats) are made using the Armorsmith workbench. So, if you want to make new vaultsuits, use the Armorsmith workbench. If you want to modify your vaultsuits into proto-vaultsuits, use the armor workbench.

Uh... OP and me got a problem then. Before I left that previous reply I tried to do exactly that, but there were no option for any of the changes presented here.

In fact, I actually found a "Vault Jumpsuit", unbranded, in the Armorsmith Bench, which I'm guessing is from here. There were only five options available for editing there, one being No Misc (for mods like Pocketed and Ultra-Light Build) and the other four for changing the jumpsuit to Clean or Dirty, on both the lining and the logo. Two of these were oddly redundant, labelled for changing "Vault 111 Suit" despise there being no 111 stencil or patch or anything. None of these options presented changes for Proto linings, Jackets, nothing.

Late-post change, here in my end this mod is adding changes exclusively for the BoS jumpsuits and nothing else. "Help" console command isn't picking up anything but BoS. The Proto Vault Suit addon isn't adding anything noticeable.

In case it helps, my saves are managed by NMM 0.65.9, LOOT (latest) and Radrose Usability Enhancements.

In all likelihood, you have a mod conflict. The BoS Bomber Jacket is a standalone item as is the Battlecoat. I used the vanilla assets for everything else. The most important thing is the naming rules. If those are overwritten, naming becomes broken. I believe my optional patch addresses this, but I can't ignore the possibility that another mod breaks things. A copy of your load order may help to resolve your problem. Feel free to PM me. I'm on the computer most days as I like to track my mods' progress from time to time.

Just looked through your pastebin; I don't see my mod anywhere in your load order! There should be two esp's if you are also using the Proto Vault Suits. I should be seeing JSE.esp and JSE-Proto.esp. Double check and make sure that the mod is installed correctly. One more point of note. You are using AWKCR - Color Swap Mod Slot Hider.esp. There is a possibility that this mod may conflict with mine as I use AWKCR for my swaps. I've never used the mod myself, so I cannot say that for sure. Just be aware of the possibility.

Very nice. Thanks to this mod, after a year and a half of playing FO4, I've actually allowed my character to run around in his vault suit. The olive-marine look is great. I like a military type appearance and the bright blue vault suit has always clashed with the rest of my kit. Will try out some of the other combos on my followers. Fully endorsed.

I considered making a mash-up variant with the Proto's Green Version. Adding "Lore" saying it was a prototype Mil-Spec version.

That's a good idea. I just checked out some of your mash-ups and they're looking pretty damn nice.

I imagine vault suits would be popular with Commonwealth scavengers and the like, given that they provide a little more protection than many other items of clothing. As those vault suits get worn out, mash-ups would make a lot of sense and be lore friendly.

Don't worry! I have a minor quest in mind that I will be developing to go along with these suits involving VaultTec that will make the existence of these suits lore friendly, and make sense. They will become unlockable upon completing the quest, but for now you can enjoy making them without the quest restriction.

I used the Proto Vault Suits to kit out my Vault 88 Dwellers by job type and assigned colors to each worker group (a la Star Trek). I initially just did it for immersion but it's surprisingly handy in-game as well - at a glance I can tell if someone is Security, Admin, Maintenance, etc and gear them up or move them around accordingly.

Any chance for VIS support? Also, some suggestions for inclusion:

    The Precursor suit: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11787
    +Synth Suit: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12119

    Vault Alternative Suits: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23724

Vault Suit with Pants (maybe get extra jeans colors as well): https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26290

Wasteland Fashion (has a Vault Suit and BOS outfit): https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9749

Eli's Armour Emporium (has various Vault Suit outfits): https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22431

    More Weaves: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4332

I'm still learning how to mod stuff, but maybe I'll try and add these things myself. If you've got any tips on how I would get started adding these, that would be great.

As a VIS user, I definitely will be adding in this functionality. However, late this summer, my job went full time, and I haven't had much time for gaming, let alone modding. That said, I am in the process of a total revamp of my mods. This is starting with a unisex base mesh for humanoid characters (humans, ghouls, children, super mutants, Zetans, etc...) that I will use Body Slide to manage in a manner similar to CBBE. In this way I will only need to create one texture per sex (though children, super mutants and Zetans(?) are technically monosex) thus reducing the number textures I'll need to create down to one per variant. Furthermore, I will be remaking all the vanilla clothing and armor assets to be more modular than they are at present where necessary to allow for in game clothing mashups and style variants (such as shirt tails tucked in versus out versus messy/unkempt) and for visible modding (such as adding pockets and deep pockets will include upgraded mesh data and textures that visibly upgrade the model). I will take a look at the mods you've mentioned. I've probably seen some of them already. My main goal is to not be too redundant, so anything that's already go an example will likely be left out.

With respect to the mods you've submitted as candidates for inclusion, the Precursor/synth suit is possible, OA permitting. Regarding pants and other articles of clothes being included, that will be handled under my modular clothing as described earlier. You see, the vault suit (and similar bodysuits) is largely form fitting..like a high tech pair of long johns. It would not be difficult to wear clothing over them. Since the vault suit (and other bodysuits) uses the BODY slot in the slot hierarchy, by simply applying other clothing items using other slots in addition to the vault suit, you'd then get the effect we are discussing. Unfortunately, I have discovered that Bethesda did a hideous job creating meshes. Some items you'd think should be one mesh are actually separate. And others that you'd think are separate are in fact one. This is one of the reasons I'm going to redo everything...so that you can enjoy the diversity of options you've requested. I've already demonstrated a bit of this by allowing you to wear jackets over the bodysuits in my mod. As for Eli's stuff, I have no intention of touching it. I have too much respect for her work to imply that I can improve upon it. Are there some things I'd do differently? Absolutely. However, these are differences in preferences, and not improvements. If she approached me to do a collaboration between our mods, I'd consider that, but I (repeat) will not touch hers as they stand.

if you do end up doing the "Vault Alternative Suits" could you also do the "BOS Alternative Uniforms"" ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22928 ) as well? both mods are by the same author, and seem to be same meshes and just different textures.

Unfortunately, I won't be working on this mod beyond maintenance. However, that doesn't mean that I've abandoned the work I've done. I am working on a mod that will transform the way we mod clothing in Fallout. It will be centered upon the idea of "outfits" that the player can build up from a single article of clothing into fully customized apparel within certain limitations.

As with the system that presently exists, there will be many articles of clothing present. However, all the one-piece items will be split up into individual items. So business suits will be broken down into pants, jackets, shirts, ties, etc... Individually, these items may still be worn in the traditional way afforded by the system. However, utilizing the new outfit framework, they can be reintegrated into a single outfit. The difference being that you can still modify individual pieces later if you want.

This new system will be designed to leverage the internal mod system that Bethesda included, but failed to utilize fully. For example, why is it that when one modifies their outfit to include deep pockets, there is no visual change to the outfit? This mod will remedy that. Additionally, using the mod you suggested as an example, it will be possible to modify the appearance of existing outfits, such as the Brotherhood of Steel's underarmor, for more casual appearances as demonstrated by aforementioned mod. My goal is to make outfits as moddable as possible, to enable players to create their own mashups without the need of special mods for that purpose. And, as time and permission permits, I will extend that functionality to include other mod authors' work.

    Very underrated mod.

THE best and cleanest and most lore-friendly way to get stand-alone PROTO VAULT SUITS into your game, for example. (The other mods that try to do this are kind of a mess.)

    Endorsed.
