Important! If you are updating from older version you need to uninstall the old mod first.
See change log for what's changed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If using 0.20 or newer version:
1. Disable mod with holotape, close holotape, wait 10 seconds. 2. Save and exit. 3. Remove old mod files. Install new mod. 4. Load save, enable mod from holotape and save game. 5. Done.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- If using older than 0.20 version:
1. In console type "help vnh 4", you will find 2 quests with different ids. Simply do this for BOTH of the quests:
2. setstage theQuest 999 <-- for both quests
3. in console again : sqv theQuest <-- make sure both are stopped
4. Save game, exit game, do NOT install new version yet.
5. Start game, load save, wait a bit, save again and exit
6. Install new version and load your game.
If you have problems not finding the ghouls at all at night, do sqv console command for both of the quest and see that they are running and not stopped. If they both are stopped, you can use "startquest" but ONLY use it on the controller quest, it will start the other one too.
please lower the spawnrate, quality not quantity dude. I want to download this but only if the creep strikes like lightning rather than spams the world.
Consiglio di non istallare questa mod se si utillizzano mod che modificano o aumentano il numero di ghoul , altrimenti rompe il gioco corrompendo i file.
Not sure if anyone else has encountered this but lately I have come across areas expecting raiders, gunners or super mutants only to find them all dead with a couple creepy ghouls lying there who obviously wiped the faction out.
A few times they nearly did in the guards for Diamond City - I use Scourge but there is no setting for these type of ghouls is there a way to lower their damage or health?
So it looks as though these things are guaranteed every night which spoils it imo. Anyone know how to edit Xedit to change the Spawn rate, im guessing its under 'Quest' but from there im lost.
I had forgotten that I installed this mod, I haven't played F04 in a couple months so this was my introduction...
I tend to sleep at night, as I don't like traveling blind, but on this evening I had a mission that was better suited to stealth and sniping; so I went out at night to stalk a large Raider group. As I am moving through the brush on approach, a fast figure catches my eye as it darts across the hills ahead of me. I quickly bring up my scope to try and get a better look, no use, it's too quick to track. Where did it go? I enter Vats to get at least a direction to search in...nothing! Was it a shadow, were my eyes playing tricks on me, was it Todd Howard? No way to know...must have been nothing...guess the Jets got me all jittery. I begin to move forward towards my prey, slowly, steadily...in mere moments I will crest these rocks out of the darkness and be in position to reign down silent hell. Then it happens...in an instant the Darkness before me gets darker, like a flash of nothing, a growing void absorbing what little light there is in these pre dawn hours. I'm down, Dogmeat is down, My companion is doubled over heaving, no longer any use in this fight. But she was enough of a distraction for me to gather myself and bring my weapon around firing wildly, Muzzle flashes lighting up the night, blinding me even further. I keep firing, and firing, and firing at nothing and everything, a full clip sprayed in a barrage that leaves the silence just a distant memory. Heart pounding, breath heavy, vision red with blood; I stumble forward and stimpak my companion, then my dog, then myself. I scan the area around us and that's when I see it lying about six feet to the side, a crumpled and disfigured demon black as midnight... I began this quest as the hunter, the alpha predator; completely unaware that I was just a meal waiting to be had, little more than a helpless lamb on this night of the creeps!
I will not be venturing out after dark again anytime soon!

Mine's much creepier when all ghouls (and this one) have no footsteps sound (I don't know which mod in my load order changed it). You don't know where's it coming, even normal ones were already scary.
Is there a way of making the creepy ghouls spawn really really rarely?
I'm very intruiged by this mod, I really want to try it out, but at the same time I really don't want to meet them very often. I actually think that could end up ruining the fun a bit for me. This is especially since I play in VR with Darker Nights, meeting these would be memorable, but it must not happen often.
not that i know of, however there is a mod that uses the mechanic to put their guts all over your body called GUT UP, it's a cool idea that comes from the walking dead tv show, anyway this will make it far easier to get through the hords of these things, i haven't tried it yet, but i'm just about to.
Love the sound of this mod, Would be even better if it had a MCM Menu to control the % chance of the SPawn. Much better to not know if ones on the loose or not.
