The mod is good and all but, one thing I am wondering about is why would mirelurks not like the fishy treats? Considering that they're mutated from various crustaceans, it would stand to assume that they'd consume whatever they can get their claws on.
Giving treats to your pets has never popped a notification as far as I know. Try with the Meaty, Sweet or Tweaky treat. If they are not removed from your inventory when you give them to your pet, the bug is on your end.
You know, it's such a little thing, but the lack of treat types for different creatures had bothered me too. It's so funny what small things "break immersion" in a game whose premise is far fetched to begin with, but this made my day and I thank you.
It's a small mod, but I couldn't fully enjoy Beast Master without this. I love rewarding my pets with homemade stuff, and better if it's something that lore-wise they would like. Thank you for the kind words!

Every time I try and feed a treat, it does not give any notice that it's been fed and I still have the treat.
I am not sure if i'm doing anything wrong or is it's a bug.
Try with the Meaty, Sweet or Tweaky treat. If they are not removed from your inventory when you give them to your pet, the bug is on your end.
This save does not have your mod and I did get a notification.
Says the treat is removed and that the pet enjoyed the treat.
The treat was never removed from my inventory when trying to feed my pet.
