Grandma is a brand new companion in the Commonwealth! Featuring a new mesh (1/4 the size of regular mirelurk queens, with a fancy hat and a clutch), a recruitment quest, and full, vanilla-style companion abilities (follows the player, can be recruited and dismissed, can be ordered to interact with objects and NPCs, and can be traded with).



Grandma can be found hanging around near the garage of the Red Rocket truckstop immediately South of Sanctuary (the one you find Dogmeat at).



You can only recruit Grandma as a companion after you help her with a very important task: Shopping for groceries! Simply talk to her at the Red Rocket for a bit, and she'll give you her map and grocery list. Read the map, and you'll start her custom quest: Good Samaritan.

Once you complete the quest, Grandma will return to the Red Rocket, and you'll get a notification telling you that she's now available to be your companion. Simply talk to her again at the truckstop to hire her!



Why is that even a question? Of course she does! Grandma will give you a few pieces over the course of her quest, and you can ask her for more once a day after that, whether you hire her on as a companion or not. But be warned: Grandma has a 50/50 chance of pinching your cheek when she gives you your candy, and--being a mirelurk queen and all--that isn't exactly the best feeling! If she pinches your cheek, your head will become crippled (but you won't lose any health, so as long as you're not in battle or playing on hardcore, there's nothing to really worry about).

As for the candy itself, it weighs 1/100 of a pound, and heals you instantly for 5 health (10 if you have the right vanilla Perks).
