As much as the vanilla short stock makes me cringe, for a while there actually were cut-down rifles exactly like that used by either resistance forces or (rarely) actual military troops. One that leaps to mind is the Obrez, which is literally just a chopped-down Mosin-Nagant. Pics/info here: https://www.forgottenweapons.com/the-obrez-and-its-cousins/ (note that the video is private, so if you want to see them in action just search).
Either way, nice work :3
The Obrez is what happens when you give a maniac a Mosin and tell him you need a pistol in the next five minutes. As common as it is to do, the only people who do it are people who need to hide the gun or are willing to pay a very high price for portability.
Hahah, I'm stealing/borrowing that picture. Got a friend who actually plans on building an Obrez once the paperwork comes through, he'll get a kick out of that.
OR the brutally strong that they can take it like any other gun. Those people are rare though... Like so rare I'm not even sure they exist in double, let alone triple, quad, etc digits.
I like the mod, it's always good to have more options, but 308 does not have enough power to cause significant pain.

7.62 brass is a bit thicker, and is sometimes loaded to slightly higher pressure, but other than that, the cartridges themselves are pretty much the same.

Oh hell yeah, it's a seriously stupid idea. Something like the third rifle (bottom center) in the first pic from that link would be awesome though. More of a Mare's Leg style, so it'd balance better and not be as likely to break your wrist or get blown out of your hand by recoil.
Of course the obscure weapon link is to Gun Jesus.
Yeah Whiskey, that cut down Mosin looked like a cool little carbine. It would have rocked in 1880, but I'm not so sure it would hold up against modern carbines.
