As of the recent patch (April 26/27? 2016) this mod no longer seems to work even though I used it for well over a week previously. When I try and load a game save I get an error saying the .esp file is missing:
"This save relies on content that is no longer present"
Upon loading the game she has her default hair. When searching through my files the:
Curie_Hairstyle_Elegant.esp
Is still found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data
Now the original readme isn't clear in which file I must do the following (please update description/readme file):
bEnableFileSelection=1 under the [Launcher] section.
But I had figured this out on my own previously. If I recall, it was to be done in the following file: Fallout4Prefs.ini
Upon loading this file I found this: [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 uLastAspectRatio=1
The plugins.txt found here:
AppData\Local\Fallout4
Still displays the following:
# This file is used by Fallout4 to keep track of your downloaded content. # Please do not modify this file. Fallout4.esm Curie_Hairstyle_Elegant.esp
Which means the patch did not delete or overwrite any of the files. Not that I can tell anyways. Is there anyway to get this mod working again? As mentioned, all of the previously installed files are intact but the game simple isn't detecting them.
Could you perhaps make a short guide or point me in the direction on how to change her hair into something else? If possible. Or are these the only 3 available to her?
You could do that yourself with FO4Edit, but I'm not going to explain how cause it would take too long. I included these 3 variations because I wanted to compare which hairstyles are the most fitting for her and thought I could upload it as well.
Go into fo4edit, then let it load up your load order. Then click the plus next to fallout4.esm and scroll down and click the plus on "non player character - (actor)" and look for "CompanionCurie" and click on it and look for her hair (its really far down the list) and right click and select edit and type in the file you want. I highly recommend you don't do this unless you know what you're doing. Sorry for the very vague directions.
Part 3:i don't remember which code it was right now but i think it's the first one listed, if not try one of the other ones. Type"player.Placeatme (code) 1"
Part 4: each of the codes have different results, Miss Nanny Curie, underwear Curie, and clothed Curie. If you have a curie in the basic clothes she starts in, your on the right track.
Part 5: assuming you have your curie with you, there should be 2 of her.
Part 6: when you have 2 of her you need to use the freeze command so it's easier to edit them. "Tfc 1"
Part 7: go in front of the Curie that isn't your companion and enter "slm (code)" then edit her how you want. I just messed with her hair and added lip gloss. Hit the done button when your finished. This is now her new base model.
Part 8: go to your Curie and make the same hair change, other updates to her looks should follow since it's now copying the new base model we created.
Part 9: that's it, after that get out of the freeze mode by retyping the command "tfc 1", then you can go up to the other curie click on her in the console command screen and type "disable" to remove her, changes should stay.
I just did this too and Curie is now invisible for me, even in old saves. Trying to figure out a way to fix it now.
Edit: I was able to fix it by disabling and then enabling her. Afterward I had to use player.moveto 00102249 to be able to find her though. Gonna try to change her looks again and see if I can get it to stick despite the invisibility. No idea yet if she is acting normally but she's still wearing the clothes I put her in.
Update: She's fine now. SO! Here is what I did: 1. I followed the steps listed above. 2. My Curie disappeared so I disabled her (you can do it by clicking on her and just typing disable but i use her code - 00102249 - so i could easily access it while enabling her again and moving to her) 3. Enabled her using enable 00102249 4. Used player.moveto 00102249 because I couldn't find her 5. Followed the steps again. She disappeared again but only for a second while the changes were taking place.
Remember the name of the hair you put on her. If she disappears and doesn't come back again, just keep changing the hair, and then try disabling and enabling her again.
Uh, have to check this out. I don't care too much about Curie's hair, but I'm entirely disappointed by her synth face. Not sure why everyone here thinks that her vanilla face is cute and complains about the hair instead, but those things really seem to be a matter of taste after all.
EDIT: Okay, just installed this mod and I seem to get a version that's quite different from the screenshots. Now my Curie's beyond ugly, which means that I've to stick with her vanilla looks.
I'm with you on both. I can't decide what would look best on her to cover up her head. I also don't have the mod installed anymore but the face change it made is permanent so I got another issue on my hands.
Face wasn't touched but whenever you alter Curie's hairstyle her face automatically changes to this. Happened when I modified her ingame and she has the same weird face with this mod installed.
Curie appears to lose all of her make-up when her default actor gets edited. She loses all of her "cuteness" because of this. To make her look the same, you'd have to duplicate her make-up, but I can't seem to get it right. She either looks ugly or like a whore. If I change too much, she loses the Curie feeling. I suppose her hair is just going to grow on me.
I am curious to know why some get facial alterations and some does not. My piper also got some unintended alterations regardless of what kind of modifications done.
Every NPC has their own exported set of face textures (diffuse, specular, normalmap.) In Skyrim it was only facetints, but when you edited an NPC you tended to have to re-export their head and tints. I assume Fallout 4 is the same, but instead of getting gray face, you get that boring default. Changing her hair requires a full head export, but that can't be done without the official GECK afaik. So mods like this and this have the same jacked up default head.
Well jeese, good thing I checked, almost uploaded a version of these too. At the least, I was able to make my own edited Curie with Sophisticate Hair and Blonde Color.

EDIT: Doing this bugs her out completely. Upon loading a new cell, she'll be invisible and fly all over the place.
