YES I KNOW, there are different conditions showcased in the video. when you install the mod, you can choose from 16 different flexibility and sensibility options. hope this is a useful feature for all the physics professors out there.
sensibility 4, flexibility 0.75 are the default physics settings for electrical wires by Bethesda.
the higher the sensibility, the easier it is affected by the lightest winds. the higher the flexibility, the longer it can be stretched out by the wind.
at the end of the video I use maximum values for both (i.e. sensibility 10, flexibility 0.90), which most of you find unrealistic.
Considering the mod does not tamper with game scripting and is merely cosmetic in nature, I would say so. Still, err on the side of caution when removing mods, as frequent removals and installs can break things. I had that happen to me on a GI Joe themed playthrough where all the mods reset and broke my character, lost a few hours that way.
This still works and it DOES work with Longer Power Lines as long as you don't go overboard on line length. I suspect maxing out the physics also has a hand in causing the reported issues. I personally use the 3x option with a slight physics bump and have yet to notice any issues. I have lines strung all over Sanctuary, swaying breezily. The only real quirk is on really short lines where the sway is much more noticeable/exaggerated.
This really simple mod adds a lot of immersion-value, and I'd definitely recommend it.
You won't realise you needed it until you've seen it in action. It's subtle, but once you realise that power lines weren't really animated before, you won't be able to go back.
My guess would be that you've accidentally installed it twice. Vortex is recognising that two of your mods overwrite the same file with the same thing and do nothing else. :)
Hi, so I took this for a test drive and my power lines were... going kinda crazy. I've been using True Storms since way back, but when the wind got up (sandstorm I think) my cables were giving off a weird angular motion: http://imgur.com/ACJrfjB
I used settings 4 and 0.6. Gonna try it again with default Beth settings and see how it is. I don't think any other mod I have specifically changes power lines, the only unusual thing was that I was building at Breakheart Banks - I'll see if it's happening at my other shining beacons of autocracy.
not this mods fault, happens with most weather mods, strong winds when storms are coming in makes the power line physics go all funky happens with all power lines your only able to notice it more with this ,mod because it add physics to workshop powerlines which are usually static
Asking here in hope mod author came across the setting during his work with power lines -
Q: Do you know setting/config to alter how power lines sag?
I am using, like many, the popular Longer Power Lines mod. But when I last played FO4 ~2015-early 2016, I also used a mod that made the lines a lot, lot tighter. They both played nicely with each other and long lines could be run with a ton less sagging.
But that mod is no longer anywhere to be found and every google search comes up dry for finding the setting to alter how much power lines sag. I know this is the physics mod but hoping author or anyone else might know what setting controls this behavior.
