Terrible mod. Not only is the range of the shotgun absolute trash regardless of mods (I emptied the magazine into a super mutant's face from 10 feet and did zero damage) but the shotgun cannot just be reloaded with what you're missing, you have to completely reload the entire mag. Thirdly, you have to hit the reload key repeatedly until it actually decides to execute the reload process in the first place.
i tried using this to replace the combat shotgun instead of the mossberg500. I guess it's because it has "video game shotgun" range but it is just so weak. 10-15 feet away and it does nothing. not a good weapon for a hardcore game mode.
Oh my god thank you SO MUCH! I have not been able to find this shotgun in my world through multiple characters legitimately (all past level 8) and I was not able to figure out the name console command would recognize, you are a life saver! <3
Personally I'd use something like Perchik71 In-Game Mod Explorer if you want to add items from mods to your game. Set a hotkey, open the mod and take what you want. Weapon, Unique Weapon, Mod Attachments, ammo, etc. ---- It's a great testing tool and with some self restraint can even stay in your load order for normal play - since you'd need to actually activate it with the hotkey to use it.
Since this mod has a long list of bugs, I'll say that the NV Hunting Shotgun is based on the Remington 870, and there are other mods for this gun on Nexus.
Take BUGS posts with a grain of salt. Most aren't bugs with the mod in question - but issues with the reporters mod list and it's place with other mods in that load list. ---- Understand this mod was made in 2017, when the game infancy so to speak. It is what it is. ---- The only issue I see with this mod is related to the custom animation. BCR implementation requires you to eject a live round to start the partial reload. I mean you still get Fire 1, Load 1 - but you actually had to eject 1 to start it - since it's reloaded at the end of the firing animation. You will have the same problem with the Winchester 1887 for example - which is also a top loader. It will seem odd but is functional otherwise. ---- Mossberg (and other shotguns like it) doesn't have that issue since they always load from the bottom - so you don't need to eject anything to top it off. WYSIWYG with those reloads.
Lol - actually two patches. ---- Yeah, that is unfortunately the sad part of the modding community. It's staring them right in the face - they just have to open the Requirements section (which they should do with EVERY mod they download). Nah, don't have time for that - lets just spam whine.
How do I remove the range limitation for the choke in FO4edit? A choke in real life tightens the spread, causing the pellets to have a more concentrated area of impact at longer ranges. If anything, a choke actually increases range, instead of decreases it. Also, the small pump should not increase reload speed, if anything it should increase the fire rate, as the only thing a pump affects is the time it takes to cycle the weapon and reload the next round. I don't see how it would affect reload speed.
You might wanna try Fo4Edit, it lets you edit values of items including weapon modifications. You could probably change the value that affects the range of the shotgun.
