Would it be possible to split the difference? So vanilla is Large boost to single weapon, your mod is small boost to every weapon. Could it be that each perk gives medium boost to relevant weapon type plus small boost to others?
I'm not sure what the maths looks like, or if it's possible in the engine. Or if you'd do it. Just an idea.
In order to do double damage with each weapon in the game you have to max out all four perks anyway. By making the player have to invest into all four perks to do double damage with every weapon you're really not changing anything. There's no benefit to choosing any particular perk anymore.
Like combining Big Leagues and Iron Fist? The perk description would end up a bit messy but I always thought the Basher perk was a waste of time and should have been part of Big Leagues. I'll have to try a melee build first.
Don't be afraid! The actual mechanics of perks aren't stored in your save game file in any way, if you were to uninstall after using the mod for a while they would simply revert back to vanilla.
I like how it add to the impromptu nature of finding guns laying around. Out of ammo on your primary weapon? Why not use the minigun from that super mutant you killed 3 seconds ago! It's totally viable now and not a piece of burning trash-fire.
I've always been a sucker for side-grades rather than flat upgrades. This mod does both in equal measure. Simple and effective. I like it.
