I know this is old now, but would you consider having out of time conclude on the same trigger that grants codsworth companion AND have when freedom calls ONLY trigger upon entering the museum?
Jewel of the common wealth concluding upon entering diamond city would be grand too
I've always found this mod essential - it basically puts the Minutemen on hold after the Museum until you are ready/willing to do their bidding. It's a natural ending to helping some random people out of a jam - not a lifelong commitment to being their babysitter...... No active Minutemen quests filling up your quest log once this terminates.
As for Sanctuary? They can have the place..... I rarely if ever settle there anyway as it's the combination of being "too remote" as well as a place I'd like to think the player wouldn't want to be constantly reminded of their past life. I usually loot/scrap what I want, move that to another settlement, use the console to revert ownership and leave never to return again.
Definitely a most needed mod, however, a suggestion (or rather a request) could you maybe make a version of this which completely skips/removes the part where you have to fight the raiders and the deathclaw? I don't really find that amount of intense firefight immersive so early in the game and sure as hell don't want Power Armor either. Just want to say hi to these guys, loot the museum and be on my way.
First, thanks for this great mod! I ran across it while trying to "fix" this quest. I'll definitely keep it in mind, next time!
For those who also land here looking for help on this quest, just know that it's NOT just Min00. It's also MQ102 and DN092 running concurrently, and you have to figure out which stages to set in which order, in which quest, several times. I just spent the last five plus hours figuring it out. It finally "seems" okay, now. Everyone is in Sanctuary, Preston is giving me quests, and he's my companion. Whew! Ugh, F Bethesda! (Oh, forgot. Also Min01 at the end, to get them all to Sanctuary.)
I spend hours trying everything, disabling mods, looking at forums everywhere, nothing worked. I was about to give but i throught maybe there will be mod on nexus. But then i found your comment and everythings is working as it should be thank you so much <3
Doesn't work, still get the "Talk to Preston" after killing the raiders and the deathclaw. Edit: nvm... Read the description. I was honestly expecting the mod to allow me to ditch them in the museum of Freedom. Didn't realize I'd still get the freeloader-party waiting for me at Sanctuary, so I'll use this mod to complete that part and then use the console to disable the reject squad the old fashioned way while they're still barking at each other.
In case anyone's wondering, this little fix does exactly what it says on the tin: I just tested it on a fresh game and everything went off without a hitch.
Thank you for figuring this out. After ~3 years I always resigned myself to having either "Out Of Time" or "When Freedom Calls" forever in my quest log. Now I can get Mama Murphy's drug-fueled wisdom, ignore the Minutemen, AND have a tidier Pip-Boy menu. Wish I would have found this sooner. Cheers!
You're welcome! I'm glad it turned out the way wanted it to. I too had similar dilemmas regarding having quests in my quest log forever, teasing me with the XP that I missed out on.
Long time user of this amazing mod. Thank you so much for this!
One request though: could you do something similar for the first BOS quest "Fire Support?" In most of my non-BOS playthroughs I don't mind helping them clear the police station as it's on my way to Diamond City, but it would be nice to not have to follow up with Danse after I basically tell him they're on their own. Would be awesome if something like this was possible so I don't have an uncompleted quest till basically the end of the main story.
