so does this mod render the 308 more common in the vendor lists?
one of the things of the vanilla 7.62 ammo is that vendors always had them in supply of 800+ while the 308 are usually only sold as 10-50 by the vendors.

    Hi,
practicly is .308 (Winchester) the civilian version of the military 7,62 × 51 mm NATO.
The Handmade-Rifle, what is an for sure an AK-47, has too 7,62 mm - but it is russian 7,62 × 39 mm (or also named M43).
This two are copletly different things!
Its nice to have the .308 also for the Handmade-Rifle to make the Sniper-Variant of the AK - the SVD Dragunow (well, normaly is here the russian 7,62 × 54 mm R, but thats close). But to remove 7.62 from level-list is here (sorry) wrong!
Same thing is in your other Mod: .223 (Remington) is the civilian version of the military 5,56 × 45 mm NATO - basicly the same thing...
    Sorry...

      While I appreciate criticism:

      A. This mod was made on request. Personally, I believe guns designed postwar should use ammo designed postwar, and the Handmade Rifle should not have had 7.62 at all in the first place.

      B. The other mod explicitly renames the ammo to be more in line with Fallout 1+2. Why Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, Brian Fargo, and the rest of the team at Black Isle used .223 instead of 5.56 and 7.62 instead of .308 is beyond me, but that was what they went with back in the 90s. I suppose if any of them ever do a Reddit AMA I could ask them why they chose the ammo they chose.

You're not wrong, per se. But neither am I.

      "should use ammo designed postwar,"

      .308 wasn't invented post war

Dont know why the team at Black Isle in FO1+2 used .223 for military rifles like LSW, Bozar and Sniper-rifle - maybe to have just one AMMO for all 5.56's cause 5,56 × 45 NATO should not be used in lighter weapons (heavier loading and bullet).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Remington
Maybe thats why they use in FO4 5.56mm AMMO, cause its only for the military Assault and one Combat-Rifle (December's Child).
And in FO4 it is .308, to separate from the Handmade-rifles (AK-47) with less strong 7.62 M43.
      Or maybe not...

And right @IBananaShakin, .308 is pre war (1952).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.308_Winchester

To End This: Peace...no more criticism...

Again, made this mod on request. My other mod has the Nuka World Edition rename the Handmade Rifle's ammo to "Handmade Rifle Rounds".
