You need to put this mod at the very top of the load because it changes Worlspaces and Cells and may cause conflict with other mods and even better to flag as esm !
This is a really great mod, but does it not break the precombined meshes? I was under the impression that the trash piles give you better FPS because they essentially contained important precombineds. I'm not an expert, it's only what I have read around the Nexus.
I just tested this mod in my Sanctuary. VRAM and RAM usage went down for about 200 MB each, and i got about 5 FPS boost. Download something like MSI Afterburner and test for yourself buddy.
Been trying to figure out what's been ruining my performance for the last 6 months and it was this mod and the Nuka World patch for it. Constant stutters and flickers, some crashes. Running on a 2080Ti and an 8700k
These cleaner environments mods break precombines, which affects terribly game performance. If you want to use them you will have to regenerate them using the creation Kit. Here are two video tutorials for it.
I kind of feel I need to put in a word here. I appreciate all your work, and I fully understand that people want to create and use this kind of mod, but there are some problems associated with this. Most notably, it breaks the game's precombined. This will, at best, result in FPS loss and, in the worst case scenario, buildings flickering in and out of existance. I don't know how Bethesda is dedicated to make Fallout 4 world as disgustingly dirty and uncouth as possible despite Fallout 3 and New Vegas were "clean" enough and there are many other post-apocalypse settings that doesn't involve turning the world into a landfill (i'm looking at you, Terminator, Nier Automata, Mad Max, Book of Eli, and many others!)
Also, those below who said "Goodneighbor consistent CTD" , the Boston FPS fix was the culprit because it tied together "precombines" (basically arcane and byzantine math the developer use to make an aging engine capable of implementing a complex multi-leveled cityscape without fps drops) in a way that any alterations will break it. EDIT: Might be load order issue since i have no CTDs.
Also "Diamond City Expansion" is infamously buggy thus most likely be the culprit.
I'm using all of the individual files except Sanctuary, because there's a few leaf piles I like to keep. Otherwise the ground looks too barren in Sanctuary in my opinion (especially since I use my own mod that hides vines, shrubs, etc). But so far, I absolutely love the changes you've made! Thank you so much!
I'm not really sure what the conflict I have is, but I installed it and am getting consistent CTDs when trying to enter Goodneighbor. Haven't tested other areas this mod affects yet. I tried using FO4Edit with other mods I thought might be a problem (Mods like Diamond City Expansion, Better Third Rail, Boston FPS Fix AIO), but even if they were a problem I'd think it would just have conflicts, not just CTD. I messed with the load order to no avail, putting it last and higher up. Tried Fog/No Fog versions if just by some voodoo that'd make any difference and it didn't.
I wish I knew what was going on, the mod looks great and I've endorsed it anyway.
I mean, the game runs fine after uninstalling this mod. So yeah, I dunno what the deal is. I do know the update caused other issues though, something buggy about my textures. But I'm pretty sure that's a separate issue.
Well, this is weird, after all this time, you're the first one to report CTD because of this mod. I'm sorry this happened on your PC, I have no clue why it caused CTD because all my mods can be used on any version of the game, so game version shouldn't be the problem. For compatibility with other mods, my mods works by simply disabling the game items, so if there's any other mods loaded after my mods and that mod has some same items enabled, then those particular items will be enabled, so this won't be cause any compatibility issues. So, maybe u could try on other PC or delete the game setting files, reinstall the game and see if all vanilla works ok, then just install this mod and see how did it go..
Oh man, I just discovered this series. Do you plan on doing a clean up of Boston/downtown in general? I'm sure that would be an amazing addition that helps anyone with any system.

I don't spend too much time in Goodneighbor anyways.
I'm currently focused on cleaning Nuka World...
