Fair warning to anybody still considering using this in 2020, after considerable testing I discovered this mod specifically breaks Dogmeat as a companion. So if you use this, you can never have Dogmeat as companion again (he works fine at the start of the game but if you ever dismiss him for another companion you cannot re-aquire him, attempting to travel with him again will simply break your game).

All this mod does is change four values for affinity gain. No way this mod is causing the problem you describe.

The mod is still working fine. I personally edit the values all up to +250 in FO4Edit. Let them nag all they want, you'll get 250 affinity bonus. Raising companion affinity already sucked the first time around.

Dogmeat breaks literally only with this mod, tested with this mod installed, yeah the companions work fine, the game still plays fine but if I have this installed after recruiting dogmeat for the first time if I switch to another companion and then try to get back dogmeat the dialogue menu breaks. Again happens specifically with this mod.

I'm sorry you're having issues but I don't know what to tell you nor can I technically explain how or why this mod is causing such an issue in your game because I just don't see any possible way that this mod could do something like that, because all it does is change points gained from liking or disliking stuff.

If you open it with FO4Edit or Creation Kit, you will see that all it does is increase/decrease values related to affinity points. How it breaks Dogmeat for you, I have no idea because Dogmeat doesn't even have affinity so in no way is he even touched. Neither did this mod ever break a thing for me and I've been playing with it ever since I published it.

      - If you started a new game with only this mod enabled and it still breaks your game, then I truly do not know what is going on as technically it has nothing to do with Dogmeat.

      - If you just uninstalled all your other mods and loaded your save with just this mod enabled, then that doesn't help much because your save file is already cooked with modded data.

Also I'm not saying your problem doesn't exist, it's just technically speaking the issue you're explaining and what this mod does absolutely has no connection whatsoever and there's nothing I can do to fix this. It's just one of those Fallout modding cases where it works for 99% of the people and doesn't work for that 1%. Unfortunately I see this plenty of times in Fallout modding, the game itself is quite weird sometimes.

Ya I feel like one of those people I see complaining about an issue that nobody else has and I don't have and thinking smh they just done f-ed up...

You're both right, of course... Crimsomrider's mod only changes the four values. Something else you have up[ results in having issues with that (My money's on Dogmeat - Everybody's Best Friend as it does weird factiony things with him)

Oh, just as a side note, my preferred levels are Likes +50, Loves +100, Dislikes -25, and Hates -50. As the scale is to a thousand, either way, Dislikes and Likes equalling 1.5 % was fairly ridiculous, and Loves and Hates equalling 3.5 % was insulting. They also didn't round well into the "metric" Affinity scale. Four Loves to max was a bit much for me and I do use AFT's affinity cheats to dodge b!tch!ng and companion loss. Ten Loves or up to twenty Likes? Yes, please. Also, note the percentages. The math actually works!

Is there a way to make this compatible with no negative and no cooldown companion affinity? I haven't tested them together but I assume that with them both affecting affinity values they will likely conflict

No Cooldown Affinity mod will work, but not the other one since both edit the same values.

You can simply open my mod with FO4Edit and change the negative affinity values to 0.

If you're an AFT user, use the "convert dislike/hate into like/love' function instead of the no dislike/hate. Instead of changing the negative values it'll make the character never hit those values in the first place. (They'll still b!tc#, though)

ADDENDUM: There's a seperate function to prevent the complaints. Keep in mind, if you don't do both functions you can easily have a character silently come to hate you. Tread Carefully.

Nice little mod. Farming for affinity points was boring and tedious...

Also, MacCready, Valentine, and Curie's affinity cannot even be farmed...

Of course they can. Some are just harder than others.

ProTip for MacCready: clear Longneck Luckowski's. Once you've done that, you'll have access to a huge number of "safely stealable" items that you can revisit each time his affinity timer expires.

And a ProTip for ALL companions: "accidentally" shoot them. (Unless you're on HC and don't have a decent companion mod installed). Then Stimpak them, and BOOM, instant "Loved that" reaction. :P

But yeah - I'm as tired as everyone else is about going through this ordeal every game, and mods like this are a godsend.

I really like this mod for streamlining the tedious affinity farming on new playthroughs, but I think it has created a bug - my companions constantly want to have the "final" conversation with me (where the perk is bestowed on the player), even though we've already had it countless times. It's not a big deal, I just thought I should mention it.

It's not possible for this mod to cause any bugs, especially one like that because all it does is changes values specified on the description tab.

If you mean the final conversation as in the where they disliked you a bit and no longer idolize you, then yes, they'll want to talk to you about it because it's how affinity works. If you fall out of an affinity tier, then they want to talk. I get that talk with Cait from time to time because sometimes I just accumulate enough dislikes, but it's simply a feature of how affinity works.

But if you mean the final conversation as in the one you only get once where you can romance them or something, then that's not caused by this mod.

Is this happening on companions you chose not to romance after maxing affinity?I did that with McReady and Preston (and Hancock, but he's long gone) and, a hundred or so levels later, they still force greet me into the final conversation. (Preston even did that while we were on the final assault on the Institute.) It's incredibly annoying but, as far as I've been able to gather, it's actually a "feature" of the vanilla game and not a bug. Bethesda apparently thought it wise to give players a second (and 3rd and 4th and....) chance to choose the romance option. I've got that bug, er, "feature" on both my playthroughs, neither having any mods that affect companion affinity or behaviour.

Yeah, I myself only just realised it was a feature of the vanilla game. I'm sorry for accusing your mod, Crimsonrider!

Always a fan of your mods, but just asking if it's compatible with multiple follower mods (Unlimited Companion Framework)? Thanks!

I don't think these two mods are even remotely related. This just changes affinity values for companions as in changes a few numbers, so they should be working without any issue.

If you don't mind me asking, what we're the issues you we're having with the other affinity mod? The most popular one being "no negative affinity". If that was the mod you're referring too, how is this mod "safer" or a better option, depending on the circumstance? I guess i'm asking, what would be the reasons to switch to this mod? Easier to keep track of affinity? Your mod follows VERY simple increments.

The mod in question is "Visible Companion Affinity" which caused severe micro-stutters every time I got to the Hunter-Hunted quest. So since I had to uninstall that mod until the issue is fully investigated, I can no longer see the affinity of my companions so I made this to compensate for the lack of information.

I just made this for myself because I found these values optimal for my own enjoyment. You don't have to switch or use it if you like other affinity mods.

Actually i may switch myself if i notice the micro stutters once i get to that quest. I can almost NEVER tell why my game will have an issue so if i encounter that issue i'll know exactly what the deal is. Thank you for sharing that awareness. It can only help the many of people who might also encounter that bug!
