NEW VERSION 2.1: It's safe to update directly from v2.0 to v2.1 with no extra steps. To update from v1.0 to v2.1 it's also safe. The glasses from v1.0 (and its BaseID) are still the same (the glasses with the red lenses). But, if you have installed one of the replacement textures for v1.0 and/or installed the v1.0-LooseFiles version, I recommend deleting those files first before updating to v2.1 to avoid any possible files conflict, and also, to keep everything clean and tidy. See the changelog below and the description page for more information.

    CHANGELOG for v2.1:
    - Added glasses with lenses in colors Brown, Fuchsia, and Yellow. If you don't want these lenses, it's not necessary to update from v2.0.
    - Optional ESP files also updated and included in the downloads page.

    CHANGELOG for v2.0:
    - Now all the glasses are craftable at any chemistry station.
    - Since it's no longer necessary for v2.0 and up, I removed the changes done to the place where the Deluxe Glasses from v1.0 could be found to keep the plugin small and optimized.
    - And for the cheaters , a new optional plugin is included, with +3 to Charisma, Perception and Luck instead of +2 by default.

TO DO: I'm planning to do lenses in colors Brown, Fuchsia, and Yellow. If they look good, I'll add them to the next version. Done.

Still working great on PC. The vanilla glasses all look terrible on my female character so frankly I now consider this mod essential :D Author's screenshots are accurate for appearance in-game

Spend half an hour choosing the best possible eyes for my female character, and then they're covered by glasses :/
Any chance for a Transparent version?

I don't suppose there are any... just... ordinary glasses in this, are there?
    I mean with non-coloured lenses?

If you don't like the colors, then maybe the "Black" lenses version are for you.

    Hi Azreal,

Been tracking these for a while. Finally time to get them. Noob question probably, but which is better to get, the Loose files or the .esp version? Thanks in advance! Looking forward to adding some Deluxe eyewear to the wastes

It depends in what you want to do with the mods. Usually in BA2-format is enough for everybody, because they're easier to install due to the few files required (plugin + packed files), once installed they're smaller in size due to its compression, and for some players, in BA2-format the game loads faster. Mods as Loose Files in the other hand, once extracted/installed require more space because they're not packed and compressed, and the files are usually extracted in the folders Materials, Meshes, Textures, etc... loose inside the Data folder.

But for people who want to have easy access to the files to customize them, Loose Files are usually their favorite choice. Although they can download the mods in BA2-format and then use a tool like Creation Kit's Archive2 to extract the files and later repack them if they want, or make them Loose Files by extracting all the files from the BA2-packed files, or viceversa.

Although both ways would play practically identical in the game, there's a difference is how the game loads those files: BA2 files are read and loaded first, but if loose files are present, those files are loaded instead. This action allows you to have the BA2 as a base, and then if you want, have customized files of the mod as loose files in the Data folder. That's how retextures mods work

Conflicts between mods may exist in BA2-format: They could have the same files packed, but may not have the same content (for example, one makes the Pipboy black, and the other makes it pink ), but they're solved by changing the load order: Placing the prefered mod after the mod that makes the change you don't want. You can also extract from the BA2-packed files the files you really want to use as final. This type of conflicts using Loose Files are solved by extracting and copying over the files you want changed.

Anyway, I think my reply was too long . In short: If you usually don't customize the mod's files and are not interested to know how they work, then the mod in BA2-format is for you

By the way, both formats have and use the same base files and plugins. The optional ESP files require any of the main files already installed (Loose Files or BA2-format). They're used to overwrite and replace the main ESP file so you can have different stats in the game while using the Deluxe Glasses.

Well now kudos to you sir! Your reply was not too long at all. It FINALLY explained to me the difference (sometimes hating to be a noob, I don't ask questions when I should ) between the two types of files. The BA2 will be for me, since I don't have time, right now, to learn to modify things myself.
Again, I really thank you, not many mod authors spend so much time explaining something they feel everyone should already know. And now...Deluxe is coming to the Wasteland! I think I have another of your mods and your work is always golden. Already gave you kudos for the other, would give more if I could

Purple shades! I needed that. They look and work great. Thanks!

I wore purple shades just like these for 15 years IRL.

The SPECIAL buffs were a bit too much IMHO. (I changed it to just +1 CHA. And I made them craftable.)

Any chance you might add more styles (maybe even as 'armor mods' off a basic frame)? I'd love to see some 'shooter' style (''tactical'') glasses, with different lens colors, like the Sunglasses Collection mod from FNV.

I'll have to see the collection you mention to know what you mean, but to answer your question, I think I'll leave this one as it is and different content (different glasses) would be a new mod instead

The mod in question is here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36333/?

And I'm just happy you're open to the idea of possibly adding some cooler eyewear to the Commonwealth

looks good. There's also a mod by cedaie called "Nuka Radbans" that adds some Rayban styled aviators and soft shells. very well made and would sit very nicely with this mod together for some more variety
