It's based on the AS Val and VSS Vintorez, which are actually pretty OP rifles, to be honest. 9x39 ammo is subsonic and armor-piercing. And both rifles are integrally suppressed. That means the only noise is a quiet chk-chk-chk and your body armor is useless.
