Love this mod. Is there vertical conduits as well? All the one I seem to have are horizontal.

    Hello,

    thanks for the mod.

I like it. But there is still a problem.

Yesterday I moved the whole installation of Fallout 4 with the application Steam, to another drive. The reason was storage space.
With 3 mods I had some problems after that, but they could be fixed with deinstallation and new download of Nexus and subsequent installation.

Your mod, and the previously embarrassed blue pipes still hang with me in the settlement, but can not be scraped or rebuilt. In the construction menu this Mod are no longer available even after reinstalling!??

Do you have an idea what I can do now? Or anyone?

    Best regards

    Awesome.

Hmm. Is it feasible to only colour the expanded parts of the conduit where a connection is made a different colour? It would allow using eye-searingly neon colours without being overwhelming.

The other thing I've seen on consulting google is considerably more difficult than a simple recolour; adding labelled/coloured tags that can snap to the conduit to identify what that particular piece of conduit is carrying.

Also, on the subject of being OCD, could I suggest looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/25-pair_color_code and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_color_code ?

I assume you are suggesting those for decorative purposes, right?

Question 1: Yes and no. No, unless you go ahead and create a whole new model. The problem is that the original conduit uses a texture mesh from subway lights. The part of the texture that it uses is only a fraction of the whole texture. Then again, Yes if you want to portion out exactly which part of the texture is working with the model fold properties, but I have a feeling that it would only partially work.

Question 2: labels would require a whole new level of scripting, snap points, and separate label files. A bit beyond the scope of my needs in this project and my skill level.

Question 3: No - it would require remodeling and new texture files altogether.

Part of why this hasn't been approached is because of the unique way that the conduits were added to the game where they used partial skins from that subwaylight texture, yet didn't really ADD a UNIQUE item per say. Each of the conduit pieces are static items that only make ref to textures through the NIF file. You can google people asking about this on other forums and how tricky it actually was to address an item that really isn't an item per say.

Also, if the neon version is too much, try 1.0a - I subdued the color schemes a bit by turning down the exposure and vibrancy of the colors.

Excellent! I have been trying for some time to make wiring different colors, but it doesn't seem possible without some scripting wizardry I haven't figured out yet (the wiring itself is a spline and not like a regular mesh, or something like that) so this is a big help! Thank you!

Thanks. It actually didn't take scripting at all to do. It really was a matter of figuring out how to edit the .NIF file to get it to work.

Finally, Just like in real life, tracing wiring sucks.

Just made it easier to follow. The colors are more pronounced because I am using cinematic ENB. May look different on your screen.
