is it safe to remove this mod from the game mid-playthrough?

Wondering the same thing, but I'd guess not since it changes leveled lists. If anyone knows any better than I do, though, please chime in!

all it will do will make the NPC that has this mods clothing be naked and you may also find random enemys having no clothing but they will still have armor

Never uninstall a mod mid play through in Fallout4. Ever. Fo4 is ridiculous about this kind of stuff. Far worse than even skyrim LE. Even if at first everything seems cool, ctds can start happening suddenly and sometimes even long after it has been removed (to the point you forgot you even had it installed) does it finally start acting up. Been here more than a few times.

Note: IF YOU DO decide to uninstall mid play thru, to mitigate issues, you must at bare minimum put a new mod in the same mod slot, even a blank plugin will be ok. This prevents breaking records on all the mods loaded after this one. If you do not, it will change the number associated with the load order that the save file will try to reference which will now be incorrect. This will corrupt your save file and the game will become slowly unplayable causing more and more ctds the longer you play. I swapped out several mods in my last 1000+ hour play thru with very few issues however it most likely did start causing some issue still but they were not game breaking. The biggest issue is if you made changes to the game or world with the mod you removed, if you did the save file will try to reference these either when loading the game or when you come across them in the world. If it's something small like more or less damage, the effect will be minimal or nothing at all, but if it has scripts that are deployed in your save file you will likely ctd upon loading that save, most will however will be like the previous comment mentioned, naked npcs or missing environmental elements etc, if you made changes to the world by adding in workshop items or used a mod that edits the environment or buildings etc. Furthermore be aware anything that injects items into the workshop will likely have scripts, and tho its possible this will not cause ctd, removing anything with scripts greatly increases save file corruption possibility becoming more and more aparent tthe longer you play.

As always the safest way to remove a mod is the revert to a save prior to adding in the mod and delete all saves after that point and just continue your game from there. For this reason it is always advisable to make a copy of a save before loading in a new mod (I will create a new folder named something like "before adding xxxx" so if xxxx messes up my game, I can uninstall that mod, delete my current saves then move that copied save back to game save folder and resume my game from there.)

Big ups. Great mod fits right into a vanilla plus playthrough.

I want to THANK YOU for the outfits and work you put into "Clothing of the Commonwealth" - I love a lot of what you've done.

I spent hours removing the masters, only to see a post where someone else already did it. ROFL...

So I misread this and thought it said vanilla bodies, but it still seems to work with vanilla bodies as I have found a few people already wearing these outfits.

Vortex gives me a warning that the
Clothing Of The Commonwealth.esp depends on ArmorKeywords.esm and on Armorsmith Extended.esp. Same problem with the mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7718.
Where are the files ArmorKeywords.esm and Armorsmith Extended.esp please?

Thanks, meanwhile I decided because of a tip from Dank not to use mods which depend on this old mods and switched to other mods.

If you still want to use this mod, there's a patch for it that removes the requirement for AWCKR and AE.

      Here it is:

      https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40752

Just scroll a bit in files until you spot Clothing of the Commonwealth. It's in alphabetical order.
