HOT FILE period is over guys. thank you for the 150+ wonderful people who already endorsed or even voted for the mod to be FOTM. your support is always much appreciated and keeps me going!
future plans include: - fix the incompatibility with 3rd person animation when you're wearing Power Armor - option to stagger instead of making your target fly away - option to make your basic Strength value determine the force of the push - option to do the push automatically when you run into someone
UPDATE v1.3
Spoiler:
Show
- fixed a small bug with the initialization routine - in v1.2 you had to disable/enable Rank 1 & 2 through the holotape to make the perk work correctly, this has been fixed now.
UPDATE v1.2
Spoiler:
Show
- the mod has been renamed since now it offers much more than simply pushing companions
- as of v1.2 the Push Perk has 4 Ranks: ¤ Rank 1: Push Away Companions (current followers) ¤ Rank 2: Push Anyone On Settlements (friendly targets - yes, even Brahmins) - REMOVE THE OPTIONAL "Push Anyone On Settlements" v1.1 PLUGIN FROM EARLIER! ¤ Rank 3: Push Anyone Anywhere (friendly targets) ¤ Rank 4: Combat Mode (anyone, anywhere, friend or foe)
- [Settings] "Get Out Of My Face" holotape automatically added to player inventory for mod configuration - [Settings] "Get Out Of My Face" holotape can also be crafted at the Chemistry Station under Utility
- holotape settings: -> Perk Ranks (choose your desired rank of the perk) -> Push Force (customize the power of the effect) - anything above 10 is pretty insane -> Voice Settings (you can turn off the player voice during the animations) -> Activation Distance (customize the maximum distance from your target) - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO KEEP THIS UNDER 250!
- 5 additional player lines for both male and female characters for Rank 4 (lines picked randomly with a 50% chance of not saying anything) - the new player lines for Rank 4: Combat Mode: --- "Rar! Bring it!" (only active against sentient enemies, ie. the player doesn't say this while pushing animals and other wasteland creatures) --- "F*cking kill!" --- "Raaaaar!" --- "Yeeeaah!" --- "Oh yeah..."
- refined compatibility with perks like Animal Friend, Intimidation and Wasteland Whisperer (PUSH! never shows up when you have an enemy in iron sight) - refined compatibility with Robotics Expert (PUSH! only shows up in close range, HACK can be used outside this range) - refined compatibility with QuickTrade - UPDATE THE OPTIONAL COMPATIBILITY PLUGIN TO v1.2 IF YOU'RE USING QUICKTRADE! - compatibility with Button Lowered Weapons
UPDATE v1.1
Spoiler:
Show
- Adds the Push Perk to the Player automatically, no need for console commands. (This was left out from the initial version by accident.) - Optional compatibility patch for the QuickTrade mod by registrator2000. The PUSH! command will replace INVENTORY/TRADE within 100 game units of the NPC (ie. melee range). - Push Away Anyone On Settlements - Optional file that lets you push anyone on settlements. This includes non-human NPCs like Brahmins as well. - You can customize the force of the push in your console by "set PUSH_PushForce to X". The default value is 5.
does work on NPCs in power armor, so not working on Ada seems kind of confusing. It is fun sometimes, like when Sturgis asks you to do everything but he just stands around like he is the boss. No sturgis, *throws him out of the settlement*. Don't mind Preston though, because he is actually doing something, guarding the perimeter.
Reminds me of the MOD that lets you force push brahmins. I like the idea but it's too easy for me to abuse, and I end up wasting all my time ragdolling NPCs lol. It's too fun a distraction for my ADD riddled brain. :D
Well, that was a quick test run. I set up my options in the holotape. I didn't get the prompt when I was next to Dogmeat. So I opened convo (which is always fun because that's the ONLY way to actually make him get the hell out of the way, he runs off). So I see the PUSH option, number 3. I PUSH. He cowers down to the ground. If that had been a doorway I was frantically trying to escape through because of a mine, grenade, mini gun, etc. I'd be toast. As I have been several other times because of the DOOR known as Dogmeat. To make it worse, the option never came back. Number 3 turned into Cancel. Even after hitting Cancel a few times, the PUSH never came back.
I think it's time to give up on the mutt. I've tried just about every mod and tweak I could find on the interwebs and I simply cannot get this canine out from under my feet, or to move at the most crucial moments.
I know that console command, but if I'm running or sprinting to get out of a room that's about to explode, I don't have the time, nor would it help since I'm basically right on TOP of him. In non-combat situations it's not so much a problem as a nuisance while you do the strafe and backwalk till he gets the message. Nah, I just don't use him anymore. He's a cute mutt, but I am one of the weird people who actually like to play a game and have fun. Sure, getting faceplanted by a Suicider, or forgetting to watch my health bar in a raider camp, etc. comes with the territory. But the BS AI given to followers in this game is appalling and it's ten times worse with the pooch.
Pardon me for reviving 2-year-old post, but I can't get this mod work on dogmeat yet. Every time I push him, he swiftly gets into sneak pose but does not move/fly. This result in many deaths by bomb traps and his blocking...
Have you tried Better Companions? You can set companion follow distance to 3 LvLs with the included Holotape or through MCM (with patch) if you have that also.

I see no Holotape in my Misc Tab
Any help would be appreciated, I cannot play this game without it!
Thanks
