UPDATE 1.3 - remastered audio - thanks to Fatalmasterpiece for the help! - considerable file size reduction - added a single line to the Player that I forgot in the initial release
Spoiler:
Show
Tina: "Now that you're here, this place feels safer than Vault 81." Player: "No one has to be anyone's dinner tonight."
I made her into a follower by smacking a collar into her neck (as a slave actually) she functions as companion after that. although she will be muted since her AI will be altered.. but hey you get her to follow you around, the mod " just business" made it possible to do so. I even managed to capture the synth version of "ellen the cartographer" (thats one of those companion mods) now I have ellen and her twin synth sister..she just farm tatoes on spectacle island. but I guess there are other mods that can do this (or not) if you're not into slavery, i do this to enslave raiders and feed them to my pet deathclaw. this mod is the way I got tina to follow me as companion. she has the same functionality as a companion minus the conversation. (she's muted) you can remove the collar on her neck once she reached 100% submission or she runs away lol.
You could also use Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT) to do something similar without the slavery overtones. It will also screw up her AI however as it is something of a brute force AI modification.
Hi everyone just installed this and it works fine, but the audio quality is terrible. The voice actor is really good but it sounds like she is recording inside a bottle...
At first this didn't work for me, possibly because I followed Bobby to Rachel (if it matters, she was off work in her quarters) and ended the quest by talking to her. I talked to Tina after, but never got a dialogue wheel or the option to recruit her. I played with the console restarting quests etc to no avail, but when I quit and reloaded an earlier save I finished the quest again by talking to Tina this time and it worked. Hopefully that's enough info to reproduce, and hopefully fix, the bug.
I can keep her assigned, no problem, it's just that she doesn't man the station. She just stands around like she's P.O'd about making the decision to leave the vault. lol. The idea of the mod is cool and a nice touch, but it's also not a hard requirement to play. Too many other characters to be able to recruit and even make as companions, like the Heather Casdin mod. As I said in my own comment, this mod won't be tagging along with my next playthrough as I want all my settlers to participate in running the settlement. TIna's a run of the mill character that was given a background and a bit of a personality by the game, so nothing extraordinary to make me want to keep her in the game.
The mod works as advertised, but I have one 'glitch'. She's at the boathouse settlement and I can assign her to a job, but she NEVER actually does the job. She just stands in one place and will talk with you (VERY limited) and that's it. I've tried assigning different jobs but she won't move from her spot unless you use the 'moveto' command. Then she just stands around in her new spot. For now, it doesn't really matter, this playthrough's purpose is to test mods and build settlements so I can use them in Transfer Settlement Blueprints for my next playthrough. I spend an awful amount of time on these settlements and don't want to have to repeat the process in the next playthrough. This mod won't be coming along with that playthrough, and there are several more that are real iffy, to say the least. Besides, I had to get rid of her god awful hairstyle. NEVER liked the shaved/long hair styles. They remind me of the proverbial bowl cuts of times past and barber/hair stylist mistakes that they're trying to hide. Besides, in 200 years of just trying to exist how many people are actually going to have custom hair styles like that when the originals at the time of the bombs were supposed to be 50's -ish?
Ditto. I've heard a lot of good VAs over the years and I appreciate the talent, but it is a catch-22 when you can't afford the equipment etc to make the demos to get the work to pay for the equipment!
Same, I am going to uninstall this mod because the audio quality is just too bad for me, but I certainly appreciate the effort from CDante. Another small gripe is that while the person that gave the lines is a pretty good voice actor, she sounds really uninspired here.
Ive completed Dependancy but i knew in this playthrough [using Horizon which is tough] i didnt have enough Charisma to succeed in recruiting Tina as a settler so I 'force' recruited her as a companion using AFT. However as you can imagine she has zero dialog. Would it be possible to use this mod? Would it work with Tina who is already recruited as a companion using AFT's advanced force recruitment option.
Let me be clear I have her as a forced companion she was not recruited as a settler.
AFT overwrites the NPC's AI, so it probably won't work.
Instead of using AFT, if you want to force her into an actual settler instead of follower, I'm sure there's a way of making a batch of console commands targeting her and changing her factions etc.
Thanks for adding this so that she has a voice after recruitment and so I don't need to kill Bobby for no good reason. (Yes, Bethesda has never fixed the bug during Dependency where she is recruited then un-recruits herself.)
I do need to re-assign her to the general store every time I want to trade with her, but that's not a big deal.
