Doesn't work for me. I don't know the reason. Files in a Fallout 4 data folder are yours, but when someone shooting at me ingame, bullet cracks doesn't appear :c
Still working perfectly at the end of 2024 (v1.10.163)
Such a small thing but such a huge impact (that's what she said). Very immersive and also kinda terrifying at times, doesn't sound added on, it sounds like it's part of the original game. I'm not a gun nut so I don't actually mind most of the gun sounds but the lame cartoon sounds when you are shot at... bugged me a lot!
Hmmm, I'm conflicted about this... Modern gun bullets passing by make a crack sound cos they're going at faster-than-sound speeds, but if you're using older guns it'll make a whizz-type sound.
In a game where guns are literally made in a dirty shed in a post apocalyptic world without the actual finesse of precise modern machine-making and actual good-conditioned modern guns are rare, not sure if I should use this.
by old guns, how old are you talking? for as long as rifles have used rifled bore and cartridges became full power (talking rifle cartridges going into the 20th century), bullets have always made this sound.
coming back to this a year later, so long as the cartridges are super sonic (above 1000fps or so), they will always make a sonic crack. the only cartridges i can think of that wont reliably do so are pistol cartridge ball ammo.
Now THAT is how it really sounds when a bullet goes by you. It cracks, not whizzes. lol. I've had a few ricochets and one accidental fire at a range go right past my head. It cracks really loud and makes your ears ring as if YOU were the one BEHIND the gun. It's really insane, but makes sense with a basic understanding of physics. Really well done mod. This mod is, in fact, extremely important to me.
