    Any chance for a multi-faction update? I would honestly love to download this "IF" there were multi-faction options like the mod [Come At Me Bro - Defend The Castle Extended] has. granted what would be really cool to see is a repurposed recruitment beacon to "antagonize" local mobs regardless of faction that can just be turned on or off as you please. unlock "Anger Beacon" by receiving a schematic after completing the quest Defend The Castle or buy it from Arturo in Dimond City or something. this way it's lore friendly [kinda] and you can play tower defense at any settlement of your choice whenever you want. that would be something.....

    I installed this in a save that was already well under way (with mods, but no mods that touch the Castle). BoS destroyed, Institute destroyed. Figured I could get some nice Castle attacks from Gunners, mutants, etc. But even though the holotape loaded in correctly, it always gives me the message that the quest isn't available right now.

    I've done everything in the message that pops up with suggestions. I spent several days away from the Castle, finished up all settlement defense quests, and visited again, over and over. Nothing ever made the message change. I can start the quest via console commands and play it through just fine (though the usual bug of the attackers standing around is happening at times).

    Is there something I can do to "wake up" the mod so the holotape can be used to initiate the quest?

    Not sure why, but for some reason even with this mod installed, the holotape never spawned, and when I did the console add, it still wouldn't add the holotape. The only mod I have that touches the castle cell is the castle wall redux, so idk XD.

      here's the console command to trigger defend the castle quests: startquest 000bdb04
      the only problem I see with doing it this way is that when the enemies spawn they just stand still in a clump until you provoke them. Only then do they follow you to the castle. I'm sure the mod fixes that though.

    Nice mod! I wonder if this could be expanded to allow for different factions to attack the castle? Super mutants, gunners, raiders, etc?

    Basically not unlike this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5051/? but with the convenience of using the holotage/quest launch technique you use?

    Anyway just an idea keep up the good work

    Man... something is buggy with nexus searches, at least for me, I searched all over trying to find this mod. Of all things I went to bethesda, found it there, then saw your link back to this. I think I need to find a thread somewhere else on what I'm doing wrong, but I shouldn't be having trouble, it's just a search tool after all.

    Oh! Thanks for this mod, this is far more lore friendly than console commands!

      Thanks! My guess is that I used the British spelling of defence (vs defense) and that's throwing searches off.

    Is there a way to give you the holotape using commands? If so, whats the ID of it to do so, because I can't find the holotape anywhere. I thought maybe it got flung away from his body or something. I checked his corpse too and I'm sad about this, I was really looking forward to using this mod, but I can't get the tape.

      Fixed in 1.2 - should now either be on his body or appear automatically in your inventory once "Old Guns" is finished. I've also added a chemistry station recipe (under "utilities") that unlocks once you have finished Old Guns.

    What kind of enemies spawn using this mod? Is there any way to have a specific faction attack, say, if I haven't finished the main quest and are still on neutral or good terms with the BOS and the Institute?

      This just acts as a trigger for the "Defend the Castle" quest that the Minutemen sometimes get as a radiant quest. Possible enemies are raiders, super mutants, gunners and BOS/Institute if you are enemies with them but haven't destroyed them yet. I might add an option to choose a specific enemy at some point in the future, but the coding for that is quite a bit harder and I'm still learning my way around Papyrus.

    Hell i wish there would be the same for Old Guns and Diamond City Blues quests.... because im pretty far in the game and dont want to restart xD Nice work.

    Does exactly what it says and flawlessly so.

    I just had to add the tape via console by using "search exercise 4" and then finding the ID.

    I couldn't find it on the corpse (I have looted that area already before installing)

    Downloaded and installed your mod as I think it is a great idea, went to the castle and to the Generals body but no holotape either on him or as you show in the pictures next to him.

    Any ideas how I can get the holotape to show.

      This probably isn't it, but just in case please check that the .esp file is selected under "plugins" in nexus mod manager.

      If that's the case please go into the console (use the ~ key) and type: - help "cclfe" 0 - (the stuff between the -'s) and hit enter. If the mod is correctly installed you should get a message saying something like "Quest cclfeSpawnQuest XX001ED3" where XX is a number. Then type into the console "player.additem XX000F9C 1", where XX is the number from before.

      Please let me know how that goes.

      Thanks for that, I deleted the mod and then downloaded it again and the same thing happened no holotape, so I did as you suggested and found the tape with console commands and it works, thanks again as to why it does not show up when first it is downloaded is a mystery and by the way I did have the esp file selected under plugins.
