Wasn't looking for anything 'water' related but stumbled onto this. Downloading and installing now. This isn't cheating. I grew up with a small pump and well water. Our tiny pump supplied us with more water than we could use. And I'm sick of having to plant 5, 10 or 30 freakin' pumps only to kill my ears and hurt fps. This is just excellent!

That is exactly what I thought, having lived on a property with 1 powered well and 2 hand powered wells.

Using and used so many different pump, purifier and reservoir mods I can't even remember what the vanilla numbers are. What amount do your altered generators... errrm... generate?

The water pumps generates 60 water.
The water purifier generates 200 water.
The industrial water purifier produces 600 water.

That seems like WAY too much water. That's borderline cheating, incredibly unbalanced.

      Thanks for the reply, trollpop4

      @Squidly

Take the vanilla handpump that gives three water. In reality, such a pump, handled at normal speed, gives a full bucket -ten liters- every minute. That's sixty liters an hour, four-hundred and eighty liters per shift of eight hours.

Industrial purifiers the size of the largest vanilla ones give at least one hundred liters per hour. That's two thousand four-hundred liters per day.

      Borderline cheating, you say?

Well it's a video game. Not to mention having so much fresh water in your workshop will cause more attacks on your settlements. You'd need to spend a lot more on defenses.

I'm using a mod that does away with most attacks, so, I wouldn't know.

But at one point, somewhere late March, I used a mod that made the large industrial purifiers give 400 water and 200 power and used them in Sanctuary and never got attacked in around 3000 hours of gameplay (am around 8000 now, with 22 days, 4 hours and 22 minutes into my latest run and had maybe ten attacks overall, most of those started happening after Automatron was introduced).

Outpost Zimonja, Sunshine Tidings and Taffington Boathouse, at the least, as far as I can remember off the cuff, have an enemy spawn point connected to the fast-travel point (is also why the placeable fast-travel mat doesn't work in those) so that you and the settlement get attacked upon arriving there, regardless of how much food, water or defences you have.

Am also using a mod that adds up to 500 settlers per settlement. Most I got thus far is 60 at Boston Airport (turned off the recruitment beacon because it was getting too crowdy there) so, possible attacks are nipped in the bud anyway.

Got mods that add a bunch of settlements (have between 60 and 70 settlements right now) and all that have settlers also have between 300 and 600 defence, mostly thanks to a mod that adds ott turrets that give 20 and 25 defence each...

Besides, I don't consider adding such mods as cheating in a game that cheats itself by spawning enemies smack in the middle of your settlements or introducing Synth spies that on occasion destroy crops, turrets, water- and power generators, bypassing any kind of defences you might have built anywhere.

To each his/her own. If you consider this or that mod to be cheating, well, it's your perogative to use or not use that mod. I won't be using this one, not because I consider it a "bad" mod or because it's close to cheating, but because I have mods already which add the same and more...

The game has been out for over a year now, and I think most people have long since beaten it. I'm on my sixth character now. If it's "cheating", then so be it.

I'm using a mod that changes the generators to output 10000 power. Yeah, it's basically cheating, but that mod (as well as this water pump mod) come with the added benefit of reducing the amount of generators and water purifiers that you need to build, which take up a lot of space in the settlement size bar. Reducing 12 generators and 20 water pumps down to one of each can even add back a few FPS when in that settlement on lower performance systems like mine.

Whatever the reason may be, it's overpowered, and at least somewhat of a cheat.
Not to mention this has been done before, sometimes with new, balanced objects, rather than replacing existing ones.
(This next part is a personal opinion, do not take it as a Nazi attack. The first part you can though, a Nazi ghost helped me write it.)
Mostly I just don't get cheats like this. To me it's like hacking in level 100 Pokemon.

So what? Don't like it? Don't use it...

Mostly, I don't get people that keep commenting on mods they don't appreciate and won't use... have a nice day, regardless.

So basically you're saying that this mod isn't for you. Why bother commenting on it?

Downloaded just to be able to endorse... nothing as sad (in a game) as a mod that hasn't been endorsed at least once

This is great! I've currently got 20 big water purifiers in Sanctuary to sustain my water selling enterprise, and cutting that number down is going to be great for my FPS. Thanks!
