That extremely visible seam to the facetexture, is this also in the downloadable version or did you just not inlcude it when making the screens?

fallout 4's npcs use some convulted face generation system. synths, super mutants, all use some hardcoded tech for faces. it works on things like Strong, or the super mutant being dissected on the prdywyn. so thats why its also included.

I know how the Supermutant mesh is built and that the face is a separate mesh. All you would have to do is link a material file to it, and edit it like the one for the body you did edit, to fix this seam. Strong and that Prydwen SM uses also the one and only SM mesh, but Strong has a unique facetexture. My question was if you did it already, but apparently this is not the case. Anyway, now you know how you could solve this easily if you were so inclined.

i know its a seperate mesh. i have tried this in the past for their eyes. i added a normal map to them, as they currently lack one. no matter what material files i make, they are not shown on default mutants. only strong. aka its some kind of hardcoded feature. the mesh is already linked to the material file. it just is not changeable on random npcs.

Currently away from F4 modding. Maybe I'll take a look but that can take time. I'll PM you if there wasn't a solution until then. Good luck with the mod and thanks for sharing.

It isn't hardcoded, the NPC record just needs to be updated. NPCs in this game don't adopt unless their face files are forcibly regenerated.

Very long overdue delay but in the CK when you edit an NPC and save a plugin, their face has its own .NIF file generated. You can also highlight NPCs and press CTRL+F4 to export their faces. It'd be a pain to find all the super mutant templates but it might fix the issue.

To add to this; the reason you have to regenerate the face models for this particular mod is that the material data for pre-generated heads is baked into the .nif file, rather than referencing a .BGSM like most other things.

The sun is like that to show the SSS in the body, otherwise the SSS would not show.

If you retook them without your ENB, I suspect the OP would better understand what is happening.

will this work with Super Mutant Redux?

No, this mod edits the default super mutant skin's material files and Super Mutant Redux adds a lot more textures that use their own materials. a compatibility patch would be entirely possible, though.

Do you know what map the game is using to make this? Because i try to change the SSS in the woman texture and no luck, they will always combine with the default texture to create everything.
In this case looks like they get the human map to create the SSS, and the effect is very nice, because the green color of super mutant, if is this the game is doing, there is some nice options to improve human SSS.

SSS data is located within the material file. not one of the texture maps.
