For modders and people who knows how to use FO4Edit, the keyword required for this to work on v1.1.0 is: AnimHelmetCoversMouth [KYWD:001E5F73]
If it's missing in the keywords list for the helmet(s) included by any mod, open its plugin with FO4Edit, add the missing keyword to the helmet(s), and save the plugin Afterwards, don't forget to un-equip and re-equip your current helmet to refresh its properties once you're in the game.
Use this keyword if you want to add your custom helmet mod, or you can also use this to remove the effect from your choice of helmet or if you're having unnecessary armor removal. XD
I'm not entirely sure what I did wrong but the mod didn't hide my helmet and put me in blackface, which is .. unique? I'm guessing there was some kind of a mesh replacement issue.
ok i'm using with this mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27418/. I added the keyword myself and its work perfectly but, it looks like your mod can only hide one "helmet" at time. I'm saying this because that mod let you wear a Mask, a Helmet and Glasses at same time. So your mod can only hide the first helmet i wear. Is there anything i can do to make it work for multiple itens at once?
The fact it is not working for power armor, for me, is a plus. If ever you manage to make it work, please let us have an option to disable functionality with power armors

I've been trying to make the mod work with the Riot Helmet from the NCR Ranger Armor mod on console but even though it has a mask, it doesn't work at all. I don't know if it is becaue the helmet only takes up the helmet slot despite the mask or if it's because it's a mod. Also, will you perhaps be upsating the mod to remove helmets as well?
The reason it doesn't work is because the helmet doesn't have the keyword that says it covers the mouth like other helmets do. You could ask the mod author of the helmet to possible add it.
Why have that modifier at all? If I want to take my helmet off, then I don't see why I shouldn't be able to...
If it's necessary somehow, I'd love to know why. Otherwise it's a silly limitation that keeps this from being universally compatible with other mods.
Due to the limitations of the creation kit i have to use keywords that are assigned to objects. So if any armor that is worn that covers the mouth is detected as a helmet. So if a modded helmet does have the specified keyword it will work. But if it does not you can add it yourself following the instruction in the locked comment above.
I installed and loaded the mod, but does not seem to work correctly. Unequips/hides my helmet when I enter dialogue, but it won't reequip it. And it won't hide when I am in power armor.
works for amour and not for power amour. i have the latest version downloaded, though i think it might be because i have the targeting hud mod on my helmet.

Other than that, really a nice work, awesome mod.
