Hrm... you could be right. It could be a coincidence that this is mod I narrowed it down to, slowly disabling batches of 10 mods at a time to find the problem section, then winnowing it from there.
It really IS, I was getting 11 to 20 fps in the goodneighbour city area, and i disable all my mods, texture mods, 4k mods and everything, i was enabiling one by one, and when i enable this mod and the DLC of this same mod, PROBLEM FIXED! So i erased from my pc! 60 STABLE FPS ANYWHERE!
Nah, this seems to bork things for some reason, the Mechanist Lair at the first door was invis and all hall of mirrors and what not. Took this mod out and BAM back to normal.
just checking using FO4Edit and DLC and this mod - when you high light the wood there is a delay/problem loading the woodcrate03 .nif files. everything else seems ok.
I can confirm that this mods causes sever FPS drops. I just started playing FO4 again and installed a bunch of new mods (together with my old ones) and game was running at 25-35 FPS. So I started removing the mods I figured was the reason behind it (texture mods, mods that adds NPC, etc) but it wasn't until I removed this one my FPS went back up again. I installed the other mods I had removed and the game, still without this mod, runs steady at 55-60 FPS.
Also, the invisible elevator in the vault during the intro and when you leave vault 111, is definitively because of this mod. It was the only mod I had when I started a new game, I removed it and the elevator was visible again.
@Mistle24 that is a problem with the mechanist lair not this mod specifically, any mod that alters that cell fucks it up like that. There is a fix for it, I use the Mechanist lair overhual mod that includes the fix for the invisible house of mirrors s#*!
This mod deletes crates all over the game world to replace them with new container crates. The deletions break precombines everywhere. That causes all kinds of performance problems.
The frame drop is soo huge from like 70 to 35 fps and even when I am not even near a vault. Disabling the mod fixes the frames, enable it and goes back to low fps. not worth the download it's broken.
seem to be getting some kind of conflict here as well as the mod that lets you pick up trash piles. It only wants to work in settlements and no where else. any idea what might be restricting this mod? vault 111 didnt have any crates i could open but there was some wood ones that worked in sanctuary/redrocket
So after a while of enabling and disabling mods, I came across an observation; This mod obliterates framerate. I had it enabled, 40-59 FPS [and lower at times depending on where i faced] in downtown boston, disabled it and went back up to around 110ish where i should be. Yikes, a shame but definitely gonna avoid this..
It's because the author broke precombined meshes by deleting the original crates and replacing them. Didn't used to be a problem. Updates to the game in the last couple of years have changed the way the game handles precombines.
It also causes Graphical Issues in certain locations as well. I love the idea of this mod, but FPS hits and seeing through walls (with the eye strain that comes with that), are deal breakers. :(
I'm going to comment and bring this up again. I just made a bug report that explains it in way more detail. Because of the way these are new buildable containers and are item replacements in-game it does break the game. All precombines are broken and it causes a massive amount of FPS loss and major landscape and layering bugs. Put simply, this mod is completely broken and will crush and destroy your save game because of persistent container references and bad item codes.
I can confirm this after 200 hours of play and seeing multiple issues that I blamed on another mod. I finally rebuilt Spectacle Island and the massive pile of containers on the barge showed me this mod was the heart of my flickering, texture bugs, map layering bugs, and all sorts of other stuff.
Not the mod authors fault, but with the new last updates, this for sure is a no-go mod now.
im having trouble with the mod when i look at a container i have to look at a spot for me to loot i try to re install now it wont show so i do it again and it does work until i have to reload i think i did something wrong
I have seen this problem too, sometimes it's extremely difficult to find the spot that makes the container contents UI windows pop up to allow me to loot it. I know it must be an interaction with one of my other mods because when I load only this mod with UFO4Patch it works fine and as expected with no weird behaviors. I have not yet discovered which of my other mods is causing this.
Could you make something like this for SHIPPING CONTAINERS? It drives me crazy that these are not openable. They should often contain SOMETHING, even if it is just trash. Food shipments gone bad, Parts, Clothing, (rotted with time perhaps?) shipments of things from time to time, all manner of finished goods. Just Something, there was enough commerce to have these things moving all over the commonwealth, they should not be empty. Some should be locked, some broke open. Maybe even labeled "Ransacked container"?
I'd take a crack at it myself if I had any clue how to get started.

disabled this ones esp and diamond city entrance was back to 60fps from <24fps

The Vault-Tec Containers In Mechanist Lair was Lootable, but the Wood Crates were still Unlootable in the Mechanist Lair.
I'd take a crack at it myself if I had any clue how to get started.
