Information regarding LMCC v10 compatibility patch
If you have any problems with the new LMCC v10 compatibility patch, please, try those before asking:
- check if you are using LMCC and not only LM - check your load order, first load ESP file of LMCC and after it this mod's ESP - try redownloading and reinstalling the mod - try starting a new game (problem might be hidden in the save file)
If you tried all above and this mod still does not work, then feel free to comment, I will be happy to help you! But please include these information:
- gender of your character (male/female) - if you have used any previous version of this mod (with that character)
Seeing a lot of issues with LMCC and this mod behaving, and one thing I do that may work for others as well is that LMCC is pushed waaay down on my load order, past any of the mods that touch LooksMenu at all, and as far as I can get it and still work. *IMMEDIATELY AFTER* is this mod (Viper's Warpaint - LMCC10p12.esp)
It is still located under Face Paint as the author's image gallery shows. Will embed an image here to show how my menu has much of both.
I didnt do anything special or extra , I just downloaded the latest file with nmm, and when the fomod came I ticked the matching file versions that match what version of LMCC I use
Ok, in case someone pass through here with my same issues, this is how I was able to make this mod work while having the Looks Menu and Looks menu Customization Compendium V10, I'm gonna tell what was my workaround:
I went inside the looks menu customization compendium folders. Specifically this path : Looks Menu Customization Compendium/textures/Actors/Character/Character Assets/FaceDetails/Xenius
Inside the Xenius folder there are files called Facepaint. What i did was remove the .dds files, from Facepaint1.dds to Facepaint12.dds . I grabbed the .dds files from the Viper mod and i renamed those files, Facepaint1, 2, 3, and so on, so that they had the exact same name of the xenius facepaint files. Mind you, i only renamed the 12 .dds viper files pertaining to the female facepaint, i dont use the male character. And indeed in the character pre war editor, i have the Viper warpaints now instead of the Xenius facepaints. It's not a perfect workaround and you have to sacrifice those 12 facepaints from xenius, but hey..I'm not an expert modder and I don't know how to script or add consistently stuff to mods, this is just simple renaming and drag and drop. Besides..it's your game ! I am using Mod Organizer 2 by the way. Obviously the Viper textures this way are now integrated in the looks menu customization compendium, so i deactivated the Viper Mod and its compatibility .esp since for me now it's no longer needed in the load order.
That sounds weird. Have you tried reinstalling the mod? Can you please verify, that all the warpaint textures installed correctly - i.e. there are 24 DDS files starting with "vv" in their names (12 starting "vv_f_", 12 starting "vv_m_") in folder: "Fallout 4\Data\textures\actors\character\Character Assets\FaceDetails"?
Thanks for the reply. Do you use standard version, or LMCC Compatibility one? Are you using some kind of higher resolution textures for the face - like 2k?
I am sorry I missed your comment. If it is still relevant - in theory it should work (at least it worked for me), however if all go well, there will be new compatibility patch for LMCC v10 released tomorow or a day after, so stay tuned.
Hello, I recently downloaded this ver 1.1 and have latest looks menu mod yes done the ini thin and f4se thing cant seem the find where in the menu it is or have it show up, I looked under face paint , make up , markings , named section awoe for example , not there, ??? am I not looking in the right s place to see where, ? went to extras as well couldnt fine it there ?? I use the latest nmm to download its downloaded and installed just fine , I went to F for face, and cant see it in any of selections ?
That's fine real life before game life ^.^ , no , I wasn't able to resolve it at the time . I thought because I was doing it pre war , but understood it still should've show up tho ? so I went to diamond city and sat in the guy's chair and still couldnt see it .. , That was during my 1st playthru, and not long just starting my 2nd playthru, I could download it again and see if it showing up or not, I do use other hair and facial mods like Apachii Hairs , Commonwealth Cuts Ks Hairdo's , 256 Standalone Hair colors, I think thats all o.O ...
just in case - my c fomod choices were standard - Full Opacity - Lmcc v8 ...
Have re downloaded, in fomod I chose , standard , then full opacity, then LMCC , because I do use that / have that , then a overwrite pop up came up asking or saying that the file already existed in the lmcc and whether to over with this , normally I say no and will still install ok t but this time I said yes ! will go to dc facial guy and have a look !
Edted -- Sry, but it's still not showing up In lmcc n such character create choices markings tattoo , the named selections =/ I was hoping to do a face just like in the screenshots ... ohhh well o.o
Thank you for your answer. OK, so I will try to recreate the problem this weekend and will let you know of my findings. In the meantime, just to make sure, please check your load order of Fallout 4, if you are loading the ESP of this mod after the ESP of Looks Menu.
OK, so I have done some research and unfortunatelly I was unable to recreate the problem you are writing about.
Please, make sure that you are loading this mod AFTER Looks Menu as I wrote in my last comment (if it is something new for you, chceck out this video explaining what load order is and what it does). Also try using console command "showlooksmenu player 1" and go to Extras -> Face Paint. At the end of the list there should be the warpaints.
I dont know why myself this wont show up , it download and installs just fine, and is at the bottom after lmcc, I've tried both the chair at dc and console , even with lmcc and lm , I couldn't see it in face paints .. ?
Don't know a solution to this but I did discover, after downloading this & the LMCC patch on Friday (2nd June 2017) that this mod conflicts with LooksMenu Customization Compendium even with the LMCC patch.
I already had LMCC in my load order & then downloaded this mod to find the same issue as yourself in that it didn't show up in the facepaints anywhere. I then downloaded the version 1 of this mod (viper's) & it showed in the facepaint list but nothing from LMCC showed up at all. I even downloaded some of the mods included in LMCC as separate mods from the authors (AGCP's Face Details Add-on & Extraordinary Character Expansion) to test and the same thing happened - it was either one or the other (dependent on load order) never did both (mod) options appear in the face paint list.
I varied the position of the mods in my load order multiple times with various iterations of all the mods (this one, LMCC & the separate authors mods) and there is a definite conflict between them - it's a choice between using either Viper's Warpaint or LMCC (or the individual mods)
Sorry this isn't a solution but, it maybe the base info for the mod author to replicate the issue and work out whatever is causing the problem - hope it helps a little anyway
Ohh wow, that'll explain why its not showing then , thanks for that, , think I'll stick with one of many than just one , considering there isn't much choice with just vanilla o.o Thanks for clearing that up ..
@AzriaphaleArkus Thank you for more info! That sounds weird, because I personaly use latest LMCC with my mod and both LMCC and this mod work side by side! There is deffinitely something strange going on with this. Will need some time to investigate and solve this problem.
Please, keep an eye on the mod page for further info and updates.

Kudos for the author, the facepaints are lovely !
Thanks for stopping by!
"Fallout 4\Data\textures\actors\character\Character Assets\FaceDetails"?
