I'm not returning to modding Fallout 4, it's a horrid mess.

You can pretty much fix the hud with this mod and DEF_UI. You'll get basically the same effects from the Flawless Widescreen fix, but without a process running in the background. It's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than vanilla FO4.

Now the best option is still Truby9, but that mod simply won't work anymore with me after the last F4SE update.

Anyone know how to change the color of the shaded background to black? Like in Fallout 3/NV

I am using 4096x2160 and unfortunately none of this hits the sweet spot. I am not even sure what aspect ratio is THAT.
    I looked it up apparently : 4096 × 2160 (full frame, 256:135 or 1.90:1 aspect ratio)
    HEEEEELP please.

After i start using Vortex, this fix stop working.
After some digging around i figure out i tried replace "HUDGlassFlat.nif" in -data/mesh/interface/object- with one from the mod - and it work.
I dont know if this is intended install but in NMM work just install and in Vortex dont.

Hey is it possible to remove the HUDglass altogether? I don't think it is even a little bit needed!

Hi, bit confused, is this supose to fix the backgrounds on icons? like in this pic?
    http://imgur.com/a/bBZ5T

im 21:9 3440x1440 and as shown, didnt work?

well its doing somthing, as with it off its way out of whack, but still off in a few areas.

    im back after months off

I use to use a patched widescreen patch mod but mod author removed his fixes and i had fixed them to be perfect in past but now im tryin gto find a solution

I had modified a swf file in the past to line up the background of the survival icons, and removed the background from the flashlight.
I an prolly do that again but forgot how, i remember a bit about ffdec, but forgot which sprite is the one im looking for and which moves it (and in which direction)

Yeah, it affects the dark green background used in the interface (main menu, message boxes, HUD, etc).

It's possible that I messed up the 21:9 .nif, but to make sure, take the vanilla UI .swf and edit it to your resolution. Can't remember how, so you're on your own there. Once you've edited the .swf file and added my .nif fix, is it still screwed up?

      years later, yes
atm finally getting back to this for a new run thu

      using 21:9 Def UI at 3440 x 1440 (21:9)

this gets it close but not quite there.

The tutorial/ info popup is way off
the compass is fine just slightly too small
the fav menu is all shifted to left
the aid/surival icons are offset to left

ive fixed this is the past doing some crazy stuff but ill keep looking, i feel like this is very close

SO I opened in NIFscope, not an expert on this but i reverse engineered your 5:4 one, and found you had the math right(if what u said is the right way in the description) was off by like .4 or somthing but ya i guess its jsut positional data and not so much its size.

      which brings up something funny

due to my lack of knowledge i somehow saved the file after tweeking those verts X cords (ONLY) and now they are ALL invisible? i guess that solves it lol

No idea what i did but might keep it
