I just tested this on 6/3/2024. It still works perfectly! Triple check, if you have issues, that you 1) Do not have ANY mods that touch the perk Strong Back 2) have NO ranks in the perk Strong Back, and 3) have Far Harbor.
+300lbs is an awful lot even in the normal game, in Survival it'd defeat the entire purpose of the reduced carrying capacity which is meant to be vaguely realistic. If SPECIAL actually mattered anymore (it doesn't,) a character with 10 STR wouldn't be able to run around endlessly with that sort of weight on them, they'd only be able to lift it briefly.
If ammo weight is one's primary concern (assuming we're not talking lugging around a Fat Man, missile launcher, gatling laser and dozens of units of associated ammo, which Survival is obviously meant to prevent players from doing,) something like New Vegas' Pack Rat would make more sense.
It does make more sense in conjunction with modded weapons (many of which are heavier than average. RGB Broadsider weighs 100), and if you are a compulsive hoarder like me.
Hello, is there something extra I have to do? It isn't working for me at all. Maybe it's just an issue with teh Wearable Backpack mod but I'm not sure.
Go into the console, use player.removeperk [In this order and one at a time- 030423a3, 001d2489, 00065e5c, 00065e5b, 0004b24e] to remove all levels of Strong Back. Then use CGF "Game.AddPerkPoints" 5 to add all 5 ranks back.
The game does not like it when you retroactively change perks, so you have to reapply them.
MOST OF THE TIME, and IF YOU HAVE ALL DLCS, Strong Back 5 has the first two integers of 03, because that is where Far Harbor would be in the load order. If it does not work, use LOOT to find out where Far Harbor is. Base game is 00, first item after is 01, and so on.
If you are in survival, you can get a mod that unlocks the console, which is just a good idea because the console has saved me from more than one damning situation.
Being a heavy gunner in survival is really not an option but the original mod you created gives the player the chance to go that route if they so choose. You can now carry at least a couple of modded heavy weapons and ammo and not be over encumbered.
In survival, rank three stops you taking damage from being over encumbered instead of allowing you to fast travel. Not that the game ever actually tells you that...

But I went ahead and made a toned down version.
And I have all of the Strong Back ranks, I can see the increase in the perk itself but it's not applying to my inventory.

Thanks for the quick reply. Appreciated and endorsed!
Added the fix to the main so I am covered in the future.
