Awesome mod addition! Decontamination Arches are a bit op. Can I make a request? Would you be willing to add a couple more download options of how much rads it is capable of removing? Maybe like 200 and 250. I'm not sure what algorithm decides how much can be removed, but my character has 68 rads and it won't decontaminate. The character's health is only at 241. It does work though, I just have to have a low enough rad count. I would like for it to remove a little more. With regard to the algorithm, 200 would probably be a good number for me.
This mod actually solves a different problem I was having with the decontamination arches. The default arches will not remove ALL of your rads, but instead set your rads value to 1. So your HP will always be -1 from maximum if you use them, which is stupidly annoying. This mod does actually let it remove all of the rads, granted you're at a low enough value for the mod to work in the first place.
i seen this mod and i was hoping for the same result, all rads go away, but on a slower effect and you have to have at least science 3 or maybe 4 to make it. how did you make the edits to make this mod happen?
I should note that utilities like decon arches have a very real use and that's clearing things of loose debris that might be radioactive. These are things that can otherwise wind up in food or embedded in clothing or wounds, exposing people to dangerous levels of radiation over a longer period of time instead of all at once. In reality, the human body is capable of recovering from radiation induced damage, like most types of wound or exposure, but the added risk is that lingering elements may continue to irradiate a person after the fact.
Yeah, a radioactive particle contamination system would be neat. I wouldn't know how to do it yet. I'm gradually learning and trying out making more complex mods, and I have a bunch of ideas for things I'd like to make someday. I'll keep this one in mind. Maybe it could be integrated with CWSS Redux, a much more comprehensive bathing mod (though it doesn't touch the decontamination arches, hence I came up with this mod.)
Also, thanks for the support everyone. Any other suggestions? Limits and rates of cleaning are satisfactory?
I can think of one way to do a particulate system.
Have it be an invisible status effect that is applied with a percent chance based on rad level of an area, it can only be removed by traversing clean water(low chance)(Does clean water exist in FO4?) or a decon arch(100% chance). This status effect does nothing by itself. Every time you eat food or take damage with this debuff, there's a small chance it will change to a fallout contamination debuff which gives you a small amount of radiation poisoning over the course of a few days, decon arches will not affect it.
Maybe add some sort of autodoc addon that's able to find the particulate and remove it, as well as perform standard doctor tasks?
That's an interesting idea. I also know there are separate resist values for radiation (external) exposure and radiation ingestion. Maybe there's a way to detect what sort of radiation effect it is and apply the status effect if it's exposure. Unfortunately I still don't know how to implement this, if you think you can figure it out I'd be happy to make it work with this mod.
Great idea. Yes, especially in Early Game you have no access to doctors and if you play with loot overhauling mods then antibiotics and RadAway are nonexistent and have to be bought for ridiculous price from Wolfgang/Trudy at Drumlin Dinner. Having a Decontamination Arch purge all your rads at once is pretty much OP as it eliminates careful rads management from afromentioned limitations.

Now you've fixed that
