I think the Next Gen update doesn't like the fonts used by this mod. You can still see all the notes just fine (in my experience), but the Settlement Menu cursive fonts (for example, where it is showing that building a trader might require Local Leader Rank 2) just show up as blocks instead of letters. And the Creation Club and Mods menus (accessed from the Main Menu) also have the same issue with blocks instead of letters. I'm not expecting a fix, this is just informational for others who might run across this issue.
Save the FontConfig.txt file as UTF-8(or it may not going to work). Or use this mod:https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/84775 to replace the file.
The reason why it bugged in FO4NG because the FontConfig.txt now use UTF-8 encode format, originally it was in ANSI, which what Better Note mod still using, caused the font problem. (I know this when checking the Fallout 4 - interface.ba2\FontConfig.txt file and noticed it's on UTF-8 encode so yeah...ANSI sucks...sometimes, like this situation. :\)
There is a "fomod" folder added to my Data folder with this mod. No fomod install triggered during installation process, though. Is this supposed to happen?
As long as you don't have to compact it (that would change the form IDs) in order to apply the flag, you're fine. Changing the form IDs is what would break quests, not whatever flags might (or might not) be applied to the esp. I've just downloaded it now myself and according to Vortex, it can be flagged esl without any compacting. So you should be fine! I'll be flagging mine as soon as I finish typing this lol.
