In order to get settlers to use higher floors you can either use a mod, that uses up an ESP slot, or just do it the text way The ESP way is this mod called Multiple Floors Sandboxing by Korodic
The other way is to make a Fallout4Custom.ini, in your C:\users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ folder and add this to it
[General] sStartingConsoleCommand=bat autoexec
Then make an autoexec.txt file by right clicking in the Fallout 4 Game root directory (where Fallout4.exe is located) and pick New-->Text Document.and put it in your fallout 4 directory with this in it.
Name the text document autoexec.txt and copy and paste the following two lines in it
Those two commands set the up and down area where your settlers will go. For some reason Bethesda set this really low That way, instead of using up an ESP slot, the file will run automatically every time you start your game I have some of my settlement in Greygarden and Finch Farm, built up onto the Highway above the settlements, and my settlers go all the way up to the top
Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some people to share photos of some of their settlements they made using my mod for additional height. Finished or unfinished, it does not matter; I just want to see some places people have enjoyed building.
Also I would like to get some more recent comments with people saying it is working or not. Hoping for more working vs not but feed back is feedback.
Much thanks, and hope you are all enjoying the game
not sure why, but only able to use about 40 to 50 floors. I have put this at the start of the load order and at the end, only difference is like 1 floor max. i do have the highest mod in. (wanted to build some spaceships for my teleporter mods :)
actually i end up putting it at the very end , after all settlements extended and now works as intended :) havent counted the stair cases yet, doesnt seem like that high, but it may be :)
you saw the pic with my staircase... that is from Hangman's alley. The tower is Trinity Tower. You see how small it is.... Yea that is a long long way up.
Hello I have a compatibily problem with the mod "Clean and Simple - Sanctuary Startup". I have "Scrap everything" too and i'v shifted it at the very end of all my mods. If i put your mod before the "Clean and Simple - Sanctuary Startup" your mod works property, but cancels all "cleaning" effets in Sanctuary Hills. I did a lot of works in Sanctuary Hills that i don't want to lose. If i put your mod after "Clean and Simple - Sanctuary Startup", your mod doesn't work at all, but Sanctuary Hills is cleaned. What could i do? Thanks P.S.: sorry for my bad english . . .
YOu'll need to merge the mods because mods that alter the same spaces will always conflict with each other. Best and easiest way is to open up both mods in FO4Edit, and copy the height settings to the "Clean and Tidy" mod
Hello I tryied to open both the mods in FO4Edit, but im not so able to use it, then i need to know exactly how to do it step by step . . . Can you explain me exactly where to go on FO4Edit and how to copy that settings? Thanks
Open Both mods in Xedit. Expand my Borders mod and expand the settlements you want to change. For Example FensRadercampext. - You will see the + next to the settlement, expand this box. - Find the items marked as xxxBuildableAreaxxx and click each. To the right you will see "XPRM - Primitive > Bounds > Z > 73600" - You should also see the other mod listed next to it as well. Change the value for the other mod to match or you can just drag the setting over to that mod as well. ** NOTE: if the other mods does not have a xxxBuildableAreaxxx listed, then you can always right click the command on the left side and say copy as override to and then select the mod you want to change. -Save changes and you should be done..
Hello Thnks for the answer . . . i have FO4Edit, not Xedit . . . i'v tryied to find Xedit on Nexus but there are many Xedit plugins and i dont know what to use . . . If i open yours and my mod in FO4Edit i cant find the +settlement box, but the only box that i can find in both the esp, "settlementheight-aio.esp" and "Clean and Simple - Sanctuary startup.esp", is the +Worldspace box, and i imagine that i could work on it, but i cant find any xxxBuildableAreaxxx item or "XPRM - Primitive > Bounds > Z > 73600" voices . . . Can you provide me the link of the Xedit that you use?
PROBLEM SOLVED: - I installed "S.BordersUnlocked-alldlc.esp" - Using FO4Edit I compared the Commonwealth ID in the + Worldspace box in both esp - The Object Bounds > NAM0 - Min> Y was -96.000000 in Clean and Simple - Sanctuary startup.esp, so I changed it to -371.000000 as the same parameter on your esp - I moved Clean and Simple - Sanctuary startup.esp before your esp in the mod manager and now both mods work well! Very THANKS!!
To clarify, Xedit is FO3Edit, FO4Edit, SSEEdit, FNVEdit, etc. people call it X edit, because it's the same program, you just name the Xedit.exe to whichever game you're using it for.
not sure if its just a bug between this mod conflicting with "clean my settlement redux" but after installing this mod the buildings that i had previously disabled via console command showed again and i was unable to disable them because they didnt show a ref id when i clicked on them
I would agree. settlement mods tend to conflict. as my mod changes the height only i would say it needs to be loaded before.... but since the settlement mod you are using will overwrite it... the only thing you can do i edit their mod so that it has the same height as my mod.
Uploaded seven more screenshots, they're of two of my builds that I owe the capacity to make them in the first place to this mod. Thanks a lot :) Feel free to remove them if there are a few that are "meh".
I was wondering if it was possible for another version of this mod to be created for the VR workshop creation club add-on? I am building a mansion/castle on the island, though I decided to place it on top of the ridge in front of the beach. I didn't consider the height limitations in the workshop zone and now I have half a castle...
I have no modding experience, and I also play on a PS4. I'd be willing to learn how to add a new PS4 mod similar to this one for the VR island. I have seen mods in the market incorporating creation club content, though many do not include VR workshop, at least for PS4, so I'd assume a mod like this might be possible.
Please let me know if something like this is feasible, I figured I'd try to talk to the modding community before doing it myself 😂
Totally forgot that Sanctuary has a fairly low build height. I thought my raised brutalist town was fairly modest but when I went to start filling it in I found the rooftops were just slightly too high to place potted crops on top of tables like a civilized wastelander. I was afraid I would have to place them directly on the roof but I decided to look for a mod to give me the few extra feet of build height I needed. It worked perfectly and my settlers are tending the crops normally. Endorsed and thank you!
you might need to play with the setting that control the boundaries as listed on a stick post above. Other than that I think someone has a mod that makes change for that as well.
Well i use the Sandboxing mod as mentioned above, but from what i see, that only affects the "range" in which settlers will path to stuff like chairs to sit down and do things.
yea i am not sure on that then. I have never really made any base that is tall. I just made the mode because it wanted some places taller for my home and Turret towers. Maybe some of the other player might have some info about that.
The game has some odd issues with npc teleporting ontop of things randomly even with no path.

If you are using the mod Spring Cleaning please abandon that mod and switch to Scrap Everything

When you fast travel or travel to sancturary, the Minutemen ontop of the "vanilla boundries" tower, spawns ontop of it, where he's supposed to.
The other two, on the higher towers, spawn below the tower, on the base. Is there any way to fix this behaviour?
