Haven't had a single problem with this mod; if you guys are having issues with this and other older mods I highly suggest using this to fix them. Not a true fix-all, but for this and quite a few other mods makes them work perfect.
Your gun lagged my game for a sec every time I opened my pip-boy. Uninstalling it fixed that. Don't know if anyone else had the same problem but oh well.
On the very rare chance that you are being serious with this question allow me to answer: No. This mod is not "lore friendly" as it does not fit the accepted aesthetic of the fallout universe, and instead is focused on a more modern style of weapon. Secondly if by "lore" you mean, would it fit the time period (roughly 1945 - 1960) of Fallout then the answer is still no as the P220 was originally released in 1975.
While you could make the argument that the P220 was a prototype that was not yet in mass production, you could basically make that same argument about pretty much any mod on the nexus.
All that being said however, I'd also point out that Fallout New Vegas (set 6 years before Fallout 4 in the ingame timeline) had us using the M16. We can thus assume that perhaps other Vietnam era weapons were available such as the M60 machine gun, the M203 grenade launcher, the M1911 / Colt 45 pistol and others.
At the end of the day, while I'd still argue the P220 is not "lore friendly" I'd point out that Fallout is (and always has been) a stand alone game. Thus how you personally choose to mod it, and what you are choosing to accept as "lore friendly" or realistic, etc is really up to personal preferences.
In the game, the war begins in 2077. Based on our history, the P220 exists. But, they drive nuclear-powered cars. They have domestic robots. There are power armor. There are aliens with UFOs. what is not lore friendly ?

On the very rare chance that you are being serious, I guess you never heard of pre-Bethesda Fallout games/lore/universe...
Fallout has plenty of modern era and space age pattern weapons. FAL, G11, Jackhammer, Desert Eagle, the Hecate II which wasn't a thing til the late 80s, the M16, and a mishmash of Colt's various experiment weapons like the 607 and MK 18 which wasn't invented by the Navy til 2000. The show also plays around with some pretty post 2010 looking equipment on that .50 manned by NCR soldiers.
Pretty sure if they have plasma weapons that actually function, and lasers that don't need to be powered by an entire city to do damage, they can throw some polymer and a few red dots in there.
