For those of you asking, I have no idea how to fix the roofs, I'm just a retexture kind of guy, you'll need a separate mod for that (same goes for only applying it to the main character's home). I also expect you'll need the GECK for that, by which time someone will have probably made a mod that just replaces the town with the one from the start. As for grass and rubble- the only way I could think of doing that would be to remove it from the entire game, that would just look too weird. Well, maybe not rubble, I might have to put that in a future update.
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3192 Sanctuary Nick An Noras Repaired - It's a change of the meshes in the references placed in the world. I wanted a dirty repaired house with the wasteland textures on it, but couldn't find them or get Nifscope prebeta to change them. help meh, you take the clean one, I'll take the dirty one. Fair trade?
Damn I just spent 45 minutes uninstalling dozens of mods until I found this to be the culprit. I can confirm your version fixes the CTD, thank you so much.
Both of the versions (with and without leaf litter), causes CTD at certain areas. I get them the moment I get close to downtown Boston ( for example, going east toward the bridge after using the CIT Ruins fast travel point). I have tracked the source down to the 77 files inside the "buildings" folder.
It seems that this isn't the only mod that causes similar CTD as of Patch 1.3. As I write this, I am still busy trying to pin-point which ones are the exact files that cause the error, but it might take a while. One thing is for certain, it is one/several of the files inside the "buildings" folder and it is persistent in both versions.
PS: I also submitted it as a bug.
EDIT: I have tracked down the exact CTD to the file roofmetal03_d.dds inside the buildings folder. I checked this for the leaf litter remover version, but I assume the same file is the culprit in the other version too.
I hope this information helps you on fixing this issue. I enjoyed your mod greatly and simply wanted to do my part on helping tracking down a bug.
Attention!! This mod causes CTDs in the area to the northeast of Diamond CIty.
To fix the CTD, delete the file "roofmetal03_d.dds" added by this mod. The exact path is "Fallout 4/Data/textures/architecture/buildings/roofmetal03_d.dds".
As of now I'm unsure whether there are any other CTDs caused by other files or not, so I'll keep playing and see what happens.
I think it must be another mod or you've not edited your game right. Ah modding, it's pretty weird what it does to different people's machines. I also can't help but notice that you didn't download my mod (could be that you got it while not logged in)
all the mods that clean up places by removing grass/vines/trash seem to be resetting the cel with fasttravel or load game causing containers and thus power armors to reset.... is that also with this mod?
*edit: as there is no plugin and only textures am i right in assuming you removed piles in another not-container-resetting-way? does this mean these kind of piles are removed throughout the game or just in sanctuary?
Nice idea. I've been wanting to get rid of the leaves. I mean are those damn settlers so lazy that they can't grab a rake or broom and clean things up a bit? Would it be hard to allow us to do that? It's like bethesda didn't even think about it.

Removed the Metalroof03.dds, just a simple fix, all rights belong to SirAwesomness
I simply fixed it so it won't crash anymore

I caused CTD at Far Harbor for me. I wondered if it affected anyone else. Thanks
