I did notice the game will do a mini-stutter when scrolling across the rifle if it has a faction paint. This is not an issue with the mod as it happens to me even without my retexture. It's a sudden 2k texture swap and that's why it happens even in vanilla.
I have repacked the mod entirely, remade the FOMOD and re-exported some textures. Overall the file size is small and the texture file sizes are smaller too. That's all I can do.
Would be cool if this was just an option in the workbench. Like clean receivers, barrels etc. Seems a little too pristine for run of the mill raiders to be using. Looks nice though.

What an armor on 5 screen?
Due to some people telling me to "optimize" the textures, if you want me to do so, then link me a guide to see how it's done.

The bayonet is just a cosmetic piece. It's there only to make the rifle look more badass.
The bayonet and bipod are only on the last tier of long barrels.
