went through last night in full t160 and still got infected lost 2 hours of play because the save before didnt take this thing is so dam stupid wish i had found this mod or had known about this infection before , it means every time i have played through the game its been with a 10 percent hp drain and i have over 2000 hours played over half a dozen toons . just never thought of looking coss i always use power armour . so it was let the kid die or play with this infection or go back to the last save
Incidentally the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch fixes the problem with the disease. Bethesda unintentionally failed to make it check if the actor being bitten was the player or another NPC. But giving you immunity in Power Armor doesn't seem like a bad idea, a bit overpowered maybe but not a bad idea.
I agree with the Power Armur but the Hazmat suits shouldn't do anything when they bite through the fabric.
That said, when I went through that part I had to leave Nick (the robot which cannot possible get a disease) behind and savescam my way through the level. Really annoying so havin the suits help too probably isn't a bad thing.
the hazmat suits are mostly made of lightweight materials that help to stop radiation. now if we are using a ballistic weave enhanced hazmat suit then yes i could stop the bite from each the player.
Molerats can dig/bite through concrete and rock, so a hazmat suit isn't going to stop them for long.
Given enough time I'd say they'd manage to get through a PA suit as well, but that's less likely since the wearer wouldn't just stand there and let them. So for the purpose of this mission, one of those walking tanksuits would be fine, but a hazmat suit wouldn't last against repeated bites.
What about being protected from bites if you're wearing heavy armor or if you pass a certain armor threshold? They're way less likely to get through that than a hazmat suit.
You might want to add stuff like the assault marine armor and the rescue diver suit to the exemption list too.
@blunder hadn't thought of heavy armor since there is exposed skin while the others are all encompasing maybe a check for a full heavy set of combat or metal as for the dlc set yeah gonna make a patch for the dlc in the future
Well I doubt the molerats bite through rocks and concrete. Maybe in game terms yeah but in reality, no way. Besides, they're like moles, move like moles, they move the small rocks and such away as they dig their way through the ground. And 200+ years of concrete, left to environment and wear and tear and such may have cracks and holes here and there through what these buggers could get. But bite through it, no way.
Getting back to the mod though, lovely idea. Always annoyed how I don't get bitten, companion does and I am the one who gets the disease. Especially if the companion is mechanical and can't ever get any diseases. Or yeah, when I wear heavy or even power armor and still get it, like, what the heck.. So, thanks for this.

The games are this setting's reality - Regular real world mole rats can chew through concrete (although it does take a while), and in Fallout the Mole Rats had originally been dosed with FEV and genetically spliced with Kodiac bears as an attempt to create a weaponized pest to use against the communists. Now obviously the game speeds up the ability to give a bit of dramatic flair to things, they did gave the same ability to the Radscorpions in FO4 for creature shock value, now that one is going a bit beyond even in the game world context.
