Managed to make this work with HUDFramework, but it wasn't as straightforward as per the instructions as I'm using Mod Organizer 2. Here is how I did it:
1) Install HUDFramework using MO2. Uninstall this mod (Dot Crosshair). 2) Find HUDFramework in MO2 in the left pane, right-click on the name and select Open In Explorer. 3) Go into the Interface folder where you'll find the HUDMenu.swf file. 4) Download this mod (Dot Crosshair) but don't install it using MO2. Instead, extract the archive using Winrar or 7zip. Here you'll also find an Interface folder so double-click on it, where you'll find another HUDMenu.swf. 5) Move this HUDMenu.swf file over to where HUDFramework's HUDMenu.swf file can be found (as per step 3) and overwrite it. Yes, we want Dot Crosshair's HUDMenu.swf file inside the HUDFramework mod folder. 6) Now download Auto Patcher from he HUDFramework mod page and extract the archive using Winrar or 7zip. You'll end up with a folder called Autopatch 1.0. 7) Open this folder, here you'll find a handful of files and folders. Copy everything into HUDFramework's mod folder (as per step 3). 8) Now go into this HUDFramework's folder (as per step 3) and if you've done all of the above then there should be lots of files and folders here including autopatch.cmd and HUDMenu.swf. Run autopatch.cmd and enter Y then press Enter when prompted. 9) This will inject HUDFramework into Dot Crosshair's HUDMenu.swf and create a file called HUDMenu_patched.swf 10) Delete the existing HUDMenu.swf you're seeing (the one we just patched), and rename HUDMenu_patched.swf to HUDMenu.swf, basically replacing the original file. Done.
will smith is not the legend anymore you are hehe just to add, had to download java plus after I had a message GENERIC UPDATE popping up all time than had to download DEF_UI Compatibility Patch install it but it showed a big message on screen then went back and uninstalled it and it worked
JbutterZJ12 Use vortex? have your mod files be messed with and barely inform you? One of the most confusing conflict resolutions and a terrible user interface, compared to how straightforward and manual MO2 is? No thanks. If MO2 is a hassle then you're overcomplicating things because you're used to a s#*! mod loader
Holy Jesus this works thank you very much, my game version 1.10.163 ,always wanted to get this type of crosshair but find it weird that there ware no recent mods for this, only the ones way back from 2016 with ware outdated and not working .
wouldn't it be possible to make a version that is compatible with def_ui? Maybe a version that replaces the textures or something for the box (interact) cross hair?
Very effin helpful . There is nothing about crosshairs (or dots for that matter) on the main page of DEF_UI and certainly nothing on this mods main page. As is this mod is incompatible with DEF_UI.
Customizing HUD ------------------------ The default installation above will install a vanilla HUD configuration. You can also download presets that other users have customized and published on the Nexus. If you would like to customize your HUD: 1) Open your game Data folder and navigate to Data\interface 2) Run HUDMenuSet.exe 3) Customize your HUD settings. Instructions are located within the utility. 4) Once you are done customizing, press CTRL+S and save the file as Data\interface\DEF_CONF\DEF_HUD.xml 5) Exit the program and play the game.
Basically, there's a app you can open that it lets you totally customize DEF_UI.
While some of the others weren't very helpful as to 'how' to do it, DEF_UI does indeed have this feature. In fact, I just found out it has this EXACT feature. Open up the HUDMenuSet configuration file for your DEF_HUD. Then, hover over your crosshair (HUDCrosshair_mc), and press "2" to toggle the feature "Force always dot ON". This will turn your crosshair into a dot, and just like this mod, it will always be a dot. Hope this helps. I know this is a late reply, but this is for anyone else that comes here to ask that exact question.
The only issue with this solution is that if you are using "See Through Scopes" mod, it disables its built in auto hide crosshair feature. I cannot find a way to have it both auto hide and keep dot for interactions (like pacify and command).
I just want to say, this works. Let this mod overwrite the original HUDMenu.swf and then run the autopatcher from the "02. HUDFramework Auto-Patcher" download of the HUDFramework page, to get a patched HUDMenu file. Then use that instead (rename it to standard name).
God, the only mod that does exactly what I want, without touching anything else in the game, and it doesn't support HUDFramework ... I don't understand why there are so few crosshair mods

I know that, but while it lets you hide or resize crosshair you cant turn it into dot. And you definitely cant get rid off "Pacify" bracket.

I did put it it data/interface folder but it doesn't work for me. nothing changes
it started to work after shuting down and turning on computer (didn't worked as I closed and opened game)
Thanks a lot!
DI have HudFrameworks, FallUi, and DEF UI although I don't use that one
