So far the only Death Alternative I've found that works in Fallout 4 VR, but I've only done a few minutes of testing.

Mod, as you can imagine, is a buggy mess due to not being updated for several years.

I've been looking for a good death alternative mode and just stumbled upon this one. I like your idea, but I'm hoping you might consider a variation. If you haven't seen the New-U Station mod, I really like the idea behind it. However, there are two problems with it. First, it's now only available as an all-in-one mod and I'm not the least bit interested in the other things included in the mod. Second, it has a built in debut that decreases your damage output every time you die, which I think is super-lame. If anything your damage resistance should take a slight hit. The mod author is also obnoxious, which doesn't help. But anyway, I digress.

I'd love to see this mod similar to the New-U Station. Where you are basically recreated (wherever you built the station). The real kicker is that recreating yourself 1.) costs caps and 2.) results in all of your loot being on your corpse wherever you died. And getting to your corpse should be enough of a challenge that it makes you more careful and try to avoid dying in the first place.

If there's any way you'd consider doing something like this I'd be grateful. And I'd be happy to make a sizable donation.

There is a mod like that called Respawn Relays by Pharros if you want to check it out. It has quite a few options for how many caps it costs to respawn and how much loot you drop. Downsides are that only one relay can be active a time and they make a really annoying beeping sound. Still worth a look imo

To be honest, I really prefer to die than give my stuff to a random asshole. Of Course I can take it back, but what if I try to retrieve and get killed again? nah, better reload :v But you have a nice mod here, a really good idea I must say...

Does anyone have the ability to make the quest item value set to 0? This being set to 1 or more could cause potential issues

Awesome mod. Fallout 4 really needs harsh death penalty.

Having strange issues sometimes when I die. A couple of times I've been stuck looking at my downed character, and no amount of time waiting makes it progress. I have to manually save (using an exit save since I play on survival), and then reload the game to get it to progress to the room. When this happens, after I choose respawn it'll usually be a black screen, but I can still hear the sounds around me and I can hear my weapon switches and firing. I use an exit save and reload, it's all fine. A couple of times after I've respawned the enemies have teleported to my spawn point and continue to fight me even though I was a considerable way away (and obviously now have no gear). Any idea what could be doing this? The only hefty mods I run are Sim Settlements and Horizon.

mod works to my liking. makes it a lot more scary to die. mixing it with x3 damage to enemy and player mod and a host of explosives mods. endorsed.

edit: i had to uninstall after using for a while. it only allows you to keep up to 1000 caps of items ( like not even 1 of my guns ) + 20 caps per level. This is too high of a penalty for me.

i tried to play around with to it make it so i'd only lose all my caps upon death, but couldn't get that to work.

Keeping the endorsement as it does sort of does as advertised.
