    Works perfectly to get in. No issues. Now how do you get out without using the console command. When you turn around after getting in there is no exit door that I can see. Does anyone know if this is normal? Or is the only way back out is the console command? Fully endorsed anyway.

      I too faced same problem, as this buggy game disables the elevator recall button (it's on the control station atop the metal staircase before the elavator inside Vault 111; it's where we loot the PipBoy from the corpse during the prologue mission Out of Time) in Vault 111, so if you did not reenter Vault 111 via the elevator, you are stuck, as even console commands like tcl don't seem to work to get past the elevator cage.

      This mod is also incomplete (it let's you get in the Vault 111, but not out of Vault 111), because the modder forgot to add an activator on the "Exit Zone" door shown in screenshot#1, so it is simply a static and not a working doorway to exit Vault 111. In a way though, that's good because it means this mod didn't make any changes to the interior cell that's Vault 111, so it won't conflict with any Vault 111 overhaul mods.

      To get out of the Vault 111, I used this console command :

      It transports the player to the secret root cellar behind one of the blue houses in nearby Sanctuary village which is the first settlement zone the game's Main Quest leads us to, so it doesn't break any quests, and it won't conflict with any Sanctuary overhaul mods either. I have a couple of mods that edit that root cellar, but this console command still worked as that interior cell's name (RootCellarJahani) wasn't impacted by the mods.


      Note: The caravan outside the elevator of Vault 111 has a working button to activate the elevator.
      I wish someone would create a mod to make the elevator control button inside the Vault 111 also work as intended, but I'm not sure if that's only a main-story mechanism.

    Broken vault door? Havn't heard about this.

    If your having trouble with the vault door just use the console and type "TCL" (toggle collisions) without the quotation marks, phase through the door and then turn collisions back on again, job done. I mean you only need to do it once right?

      For some reason TCL doesn't always work for me. Quite often, it just doesn't "toggle".

      If your using a controller and trying to type console commands, try disconnecting your controller so fallout is controlled by the keyboard/mouse then enter the commands. I had a problem with them at first and that fixed it for me, I don't have to disconnect the controller anymore either.

      TCL doesn't function for me if I have an object ref showing. I believe the command is trying to apply to the refenced item rather than the player. try clearing the ref before entering TCL.

    Not sure if this mod is abandoned or not, but if people are still using , I was looking for a mod that might fix a missing vault 111 elevator floor , I came up kinda ok but once past the load screen coming out the vault I had to tcl to get back on top and missing floor is still missing many hours later ..
    I went back down with dog-meat and mc cready to grab the cryolator , had to use moveto command to get mc cready and dog-meat back out , mc cready fell back thru and had to be stimpacked ...
    My question is if you use and , do you still get the 2nd chance character creation looks menu thing happening ?? before you leave..

      I am going to try this mod now because my characters are trapped down in the bottom of Vault 111 with no elevator to take them up and out. I am using the Nora Spouse mod, which I guess is an alternate start so to speak. Nate and Nora went back to the vault to gather materials for the Sanctuary workshop and now they can't get out.

      It worked getting them out, but the elevator floor was invisible. Not sure if they will go back in again or not. Still can't get the Cryolator (perk is too low).

      Re-shuffled my mod list and load order again. Since I am using 'Start Me Up' all the time now, the missing elevator glitch re-appeared.

      This mod ('Vault 111 Alternate Elevator') is a great workaround! It makes it possible to avoid riding an invisible main elevator up or down. I was also able to enter and exit multiple times.

      My only nitpick involves exiting through this alternate door from inside the vault. It opens and my character walks into bright, white light before finding himself outside and standing at the top of a stairway. Re-entering the vault just puts you inside the main vault entry with the alternate exit door behind you.

      This nitpick is not enough of an issue for me to stop using this mod. But I think there is an opportunity here for a clever modder to fill in the steps in between.

      EDIT: To answer your earlier question, I did not get a chance to alter my character before exiting. Since that is something I almost never do, I don't miss that option. But it could be a deal breaker for some.

    Very interesting, I liked the idea,

    it makes perfect sense that there is an emergency exit in a vault. even because they keep ventilation ducts and other maintenance tunnels, because not an alternative outlet.

    Regardless of why you did it, I liked it!

    Though the mod works, if you use it when the game start, it doesn't end the quest of leaving the vault. the trigger on top of the elevator. I have a problem with falling though the elevator floor. Also sometimes the door is missing inside the vault. But i'm pretty sure this mod was abandoned a long time ago.

    Mod works great, but once you're inside the vault how do you get through the doors locked by a terminal from the other side without resorting to console commands?

    I really need to tell the Start Me Up creator to use this... but then it doesn't make much sense because it's a vault... unless emergency exit.

    "Another Life: Alternative Start" doesn't have a 'broken vault door' problem. I believe it did in earlier releases, at least on Xbox, but now it works properly on console and pc.

      When I have alternate start mods I Always get stuck in Vault 111 if ever enter the Vault.
      This mod is for people who get stuck in vault 111 for any reason.

      I had (unistalled due to way too many problems) diamond city problem where piper would show up and the enterence was shut off...

      I have decided to avoid alternate start

    This is a nice and useful addition to the mods round up. I tested with vault 111 settlement and if it is placed below that mod, the door will show up on the inside of the vault. Also when I was using alternate start, My game freeze up when I tried returning to the vault. This mod is great workaround. Endorsed.
