Vault Tec Tapes 2.0 has been uploaded. Read the changelog for more informations about this release The sound issue is fixed, Creation kit didn't converted the WAVs to XWMs, sorry for that
ATTENTION: we've discovered that installing multiple holotape mods at once can cause issues with the formlists, which translates to holotapes playing content from unrelated holotape sets when used with the Radiation Star projector - the TV's don't seem to be affected. For now, to counteract this, we strongly advise users to install holotape mods one at a time, load your game, create the holotapes with the VotW workbench, place them in the RS and let them play for a while, then save your game. Then repeat the process for different holotape mods. This is a temporary workaround whilst we investigate this issue. Regards, -TeamVotW-
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I was using VotW 1.7, which I uninstalled using the appropriate mod from that Nexus page. I saved the game, then uninstalled TotW and overwrote VotW. I deleted the loose files from the holotape mods and installed this new version as well as Prepare For The Future, Brainwashing, and VotWSpecial. I fired it up again and everything works fine except for this mod. The tapes from this mod display above the TVs. I tested it with several models. The tapes display properly on the home movie screen with that projector. The sound is fine in all cases.
Hum... i don't know it worked fine for me. Did you correctly uninstalled the previous Vault Tec Tapes version? Perhaps the loose files are still here so it overwrite the archive.
Team VotW says they messaged the author, but never got a reply. LadyEdith logged onto the Nexus only about a week ago, so she's still around. I get the impression that Team VotW would be happy to help with the update. They won't do it themselves without consent. All we can do is ask and cross our fingers.
I need to look into how complicated that would be, I would love to get these playing at Starlight as well as some of the other VotW add-ons like the Flash Gordon reels.
Also this mod clued me in that there is an Electro-Swing genre and I have "Booty Swing" running on permanent loop at one of my settlements. Still not tired of it.
If you attempt to convert these holotapes into film reels for the Drive-In, please be aware that they'll end up looking noticably pixelated, as for the Drive-In the texture grids are 8k, whereas for the TV's it uses a 4k texture grid. You'd be effectively doubling the resolution of the textures, but not the detail in those textures. As well as that, the Drive-In screen is a 16:9 ratio display, with the TV's it's a 4:3 ratio display. This means that you'll end up with part of each seperate image (that comprises the texture grids) being slightly cropped on the Drive-In screen when played. Depending on the footage, this might not be a problem, however you may need to manually edit all the texture files to compensate for this. Conversion isn't that difficult in itself, you just need to be aware of what I've mentioned above. You can watch one of Razorwire's tutorials regarding making Drive-In content on his Youtube channel (Razorwires Workshop) - links are on the VotW main page description; which also includes tutorials for the holotape mods which you may need to also watch in order to get familiar with the process of editing/setting up the .nif etc. Finally, please be aware thatTeamVotW is currently in the final stages of tweaking/bughunting for the new version of VotW (2.0) This version includes a revised/updated framework that will allow us to impliment some huge changes to the mod in future. Unfortunately, this also means that all holotape/film reel content made using the old template files will have to be re-edited to make it compatible with the changes we're implimenting.
Hi. I just wanted to report that VTTMTV 1930s didn't work for me. The holotapes that come with "Videos of the Wasteland" work fine, so yes, I am using the player correctly.
I tried using VTT MTV 1930s holotapes in different locations, using the holotapes I found in vaults, but all I get is the screen-test that the vanilla game TVs play.
After my failed attempt with this mod, I went on to try other holotape mods out there and they played fine. The only thing I can think of is load-order. Is there a specific load order to be used with this and the original VofW mod? Can't really be mod-conflict, since I didn't install any other holotape mods (except the original) until I had trouble with this one.
Vault Tec would like to apologize for the confusion. Our staff member did not label the files correctly. We let her go... It wasn't working out. We hired a new Vault Tec representative and made the downloads section even easier to understand!
Let's fix this problem of yours shall we? You need to download the main file and then the addon in the new optionals section to get these tapes to work!
The optional file is optional but if you want to access these tapes without using the console then this file is a must have!
Hello! I know I'm realllly late to the party, but I'm hoping this is still a fixable issue? I have the exact same problem, though I don't see the second "addon" file you referenced; it sounds like it is a different optional file than the one that injects tapes into the vault dressers? I can play other VotW tapes, and I've added this mod's tapes by both console and the crafting station from the newest VotW release. I've tried moving it around in my load order. From what VERY little I grasp from using LOOT and Fo4E, my load order seems to be okay, and Fo4e isn't showing any conflicts. I would really appreciate some insight from someone more knowledgeable on how I should try to troubleshoot. I would really like to see these! :) Thank you so much in advance for your time.
Edit: I also tried storing the player, exiting workshop and then returning to place it with no luck.

NMM will show a warning sign on the version no of this mod. 1.0/2.0.
is there a chance to make them running at starlight drive in as well ?
If anyone would like to make this happen your more than welcome. There are some tutorials around the web.
