The entire game is totally unplayable without this ugly looking alien. A must for FO4.

I believe it uses radiant power like lightbulbs do.

Radiant power works.  You should also check out the other "Workshop Animatronic Alien Turret" which claims
not to be hostile to friendlies (This one is only friendly to settlers).

Here's a neat trick to power them.    In the console pick it and then setav 32e 3 (that's the power attibute).
Then just replace it and it's active.

I do this with the Video Game Machines, just setav one with enough for all you want to build and when
you place them side by side (they snap together) they power up together.

I don't want to waste time wiring everything up, I'm not an electrician, I'm an Electrical Engineer and I'd
      rather be shooting hostiles :)

Edited right after I found the "Workshop Animatronic Alien Turret" which looks like it should work correctly.

The Alien turret was a cool idea and looks great, I'll try the "working right" mod when I play a new game.

Below is my complaints on the other mod before I found the newer one
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would anyone do a mod that is not usable, it kills cats and Brahman and fires on Caravan workers.

Better to just plant a laser turret, then setav 32e 3  to it for power and then replace the turret to enable the power.

The Alien took up far less polys 60% than a regular turret + power and looks better but it is not usable.

Why can't Bethesda engineers design a sleeker turret with its' own power source and less polys.   I've got a great
CPU + GPU (going with the 3080 TI soon when Windows 11 matures) and I can't understand why the settlement
limits are capped so low, I have a script that raises them.

And don't get me going on other pet peeves, like all settlers have exactly the same height and shape unless they
are really fat and ugly.    And enemies stand looking at a corner or wall allowing me to just walk up behind them
and do my thing - not that thing - they get killed.     I've had enemies walk right by and I'm just crouching without
using a stealth boy or cloaking armor mod.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT install this mod. They attack friendlies including your own settlers. It's not worth it.

Yeah still attacking friendlies .. Doc Weathers was blasted nearly out of existence when attempting to enter the Slog .. I had to scrap all the Alien Turrets to stop them from attempting to attack him ..

Ever since the update that just hit with the "paid mods"/creation club, I haven't been able to power these turrets. I've had power ratings of 90+, surrounded an alien turret with about 10 different ambient power nodes, but no dice. the little bugger keeps the powered state.

If i could make a selfish/daft request/suggestion? Could we get an additional turret type that costs more resources (perhaps nuclear material or energy weapon ammo, ect) that does not require power? could have it require a fusion core and be locked behind the nuclear perk.

Hello, After recently getting all the dlc's and starting nuka world and doing a few thing / quests also a big fan of oxhorn video's , I spotted this , and wondered...
This or these set up on guard defense stands would look great even in nuka world or settlements , but my question is are these breakable /repairable if attacked ?? YES ... and No breakable yes , repairable maybe not, in workshop mode I have the materials needed , just the repair option shows zero , and wont let me repair scrapable only other option, I'm probably posting this on the wrong mod site , will go over and ask there ... sry
I'm also testing a mod with this called
    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17892/? The Fizz MT - A Nuka-World Home base by Eldocar ...
Also with another workshop mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18067/? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18067/?

Downloaded ver 1.2 with an updated nmm

Has anyone come up with a fix for the random friendly aggro for these yet? I'd love to use them again, but they keep attacking friendlies/allies

The wire won't connect for me. Any chance of a ambient powered version?
