I come here periodically to check for updates and or check the comments for alternatives. I wouldn't have found that mod the way it is named, unless I happened to be on the day it was released. Thanks again!

i noticed they stole the idea from this mod for a fallout 76 update a while back. that is the sign of a great mod when Bethesda decides to incorporate it into a subsequent game. kinda like how they added weapon mods to Fallout New Vegas after a similar mod was made for fallout 3. great job.
since this mod seems abandoned but sill has the bug that friendly people get hostile when you consume something that was previously marked as owned by them, I would suggest using Take and Equip or Use. This mod works the same way Eating Off the Floor does, but it doesn't have the bug.
I've been using it for a month with my hundred plus mods, never encountered an issue with friendly people getting hostile if you eat something, Unless the item in question is marked as owned.
What I mean is when a food item was previously owned but now the owners like you and let you take their stuff, take the Railroad for example. When you attempt to eat some food lying around in their base, they will be like "Myy prrreciiouss" and start shooting at you.
The problem is that I lost the script source a looooong time ago. Which is the primary reason I never updated it.
If I remember though, the concept is fairly simple. It's a secondary activation option, much like cannibalism. The script takes the object reference and casts it into a usable item, triggering the effect and removing said item.
Would it be possible for someone to implement that mechanic into SSE? I know that the games use the same engine, but I am really not sure if there are such "secondary activation options" like cannibalism in Skyrim.
Just ate a Carrot in Vault 81 after saving Austin and everyone went berserk after me. Welp... I guess the key is not to ever "eat/use" items that were previously tagged as "steal". Even if they are not anymore, it will still trigger the unfortunate events...

I had to uninstall it a while back because I found it too annoying having to keep remembering when I was "allowed" to use it or not.
